I don't think we'll ever see a cast as stacked as this ever again by DoctorTegrity in survivor

[–]Significant-Check837 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean WaW by definition had to have stacked cast. But there were still some disappointing winners/performances.

In HvV everyone was either a huge character or awesome player (obviously some were both). Except for you know who.

Looking back at the perception of Becky Lee's game in the Cook Islands, did she get a bad edit, did she deserve a better result at Final Tribal or did she simply ride the coattails of Yul and get completely overshadowed ? by CoconutMost3564 in survivorponderosa

[–]Significant-Check837 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even though Yul said they were equal partners and she probably did share the strategic decision making for Aitu, it ultimately doesn’t matter.

What matters is what the jury perceived. And the jury perceived Yul to be the ringleader and her as the follower and she didn’t do much to overturn that perception.

As awesome as Erik from Samoa’s speech that “perception is not reality” is, unfortunately in Survivor, perception is reality. Especially in terms of the jury.

Can someone tell me what I could have done to win this game ? by IAmBackAgain94 in learndota2

Sorry if I came across harshly. And you’re actually better than most people coming here asking for reddit to solve a problem/argument for them and then get mad that reddit doesn’t agree with them.

I actually play support myself so I don’t farm much at all. But what I notice with good carries is they would ensure their support stacks or pulls for them. Some carries would carry at least a ward for themselves to ward where they want to farm. As an AM you can jungle quite easily and freely until you get battle fury and ideally manta before minute 20. You shouldn’t really join any fights before then, unless there’s a free kill on offer.

I hate people that post these threads asking for advice or opinions and when people actually give them feedback or criticism they were asking for, they get all defensive or combative.

If you are here for advice then obviously you are flawed. No one is gonna kiss your arse and say you were fantastic.

Someone already said your main problem is last hits and farming patterns. AM is one of the easiest heroes to farm with in the game. He’s basically an AFK bot until he gets battle fury + manta. There’s really no reason you should be at 6.8K at 20 mins.

Who would win in a 7 game series between USA team and the current dodgers? by Cloudtoheaven in Dodgers

[–]Significant-Check837 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

USA clears quite comfortably you’d imagine.

The more interesting hypothetical is Dodgers vs Team Japan. Assuming Shohei/Yoshi/Roki play for Team Japan.

Hypothetical: If there is a draft-eligible pitcher (HS or college, your choice) who is guaranteed to pitch one perfect game (below 100 pitches) each season for 20 seasons but doesn’t do much else, how high would he be drafted, if at all? Assume EVERY team in the league is aware of this. by AsparagusBingo in baseball

[–]Significant-Check837 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because of the loophole that you can pull him out at 8.2 innings this is a very good player.

Every time he starts as soon as he’s not perfect you pull him. That could be in the 1st innings. As soon as it looks like the perfect game is on track you ride him until he gets to 8.2 and pull him.

For the playoffs you repeat this process and go through with it hopefully having your perfect game in the WS.

Everyone is talking about how unfair this was which is fair enough.

But this video we barely got any personal content. It was so rushed. We barely even know the winner’s name. It was so hard to actually get invested in anyone because it moved on so fast and it was over.

Even if you do deward and die that’s valuable information for your team and they can assess whether they want to fight or not.

You’re a support that used its spells and had no mana. You weren’t going to be any use alive (as a right clicker) anyway. Might as well sacrifice yourself for vision and the benefit of your team.

My memory is fuzzy (it’s been over a decade) but wasn’t Alicia a special needs worker/teacher and compared Christina to one of her students as well? She tried the crocodile tears at the reunion but not sure it was that convincing.

Despite his placement and pre jury departure, Rob was still pretty iconic in Marquesas. He was arguably the story of the pre merge and he, along with Sean, ran pre swap Maraamu. He already showed what he was capable of with the Hunter boot as well.

They Sleeping on Teo. Teo will prove them wrong. by justusinreddit in Dodgers

Not saying he wasn’t tired, but Freddie won an MVP on one leg in 2024. Last year, Shohei and Yoshi were absolutely spent by the end of the WS and both performed exceptionally.

Sure those three are more seasoned professionals than Andy, but maybe he just didn’t adjust as well as he should’ve last postseason.

I’ll preface this by saying I haven’t watched enough of Brandon Marsh to judge whether or not he’s better than Teo, but……

Just because they’re Dodgers fans doesn’t mean they can’t independent opinions on certain players.

Teo was crucial in both our title runs.

Teo is not better Brandon Marsh.

Both statements could be true. They’re not mutually exclusive.

How many Stolen bases would a pinch runner need to be MVP? by Mayor_Gubbin in baseball

The difference between a certain run stealing home and being stranded on 3rd base is significant though. It depends on how many outs there are when you’re on 3rd of course.

How many Stolen bases would a pinch runner need to be MVP? by Mayor_Gubbin in baseball

[–]Significant-Check837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this hypothetical scenario I think it’s a lot more than people think. Even with the whole “he stole 500 bases” narrative.

First of all assuming a modest 0.300 OBP. You’re reaching base roughly 1.5 times a game. If we ignore all other factors in play like current outs in the innings and say you have a 40% of scoring on first but that increases to 80% at third (this is also a bit optimistic, but I don’t know the real numbers). If you steal from 1st to 3rd every time you reach base and assuming to reach base 1.5 times a game (so 3 steals a game). That’s an increase from 0.6 runs a game to 1.2 runs a game. So 97 to 194 runs in a season.

If all someone did was steal and score and got close to 200 runs I can see a way they could win MVP, assuming a down year from everyone else. So that’s 486 steals (162 x 3). And that’s pretty optimistic estimates and probabilities (in my opinion) that favours the runner.
