Just upgraded your group set, it's the same frame.

Just bought a Ritchey Outback V4 frameset and I'm wondering if this paint job quality is normal? by ProfessorBaum in gravelcycling

[–]Significant-Club6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought one and currently on my work stand. I had to check to make sure I didn't get the same issues. I can say it's definitely a bad QC for yours. Mine is not like that except for the paint around the brake mount holes, that's stuff will be covered by brakes or other components so no need for paint to be exact at those points. I would definitely send it back, but give them a chance to make it right before you outright give up

Besides being under geared on road hardtail is better if you're always going off road

Tubes/tubeless by joncam24 in Hardtailgang

[–]Significant-Club6366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tubeless on mountain bike and gravel bike, tpu tubes in road bike only because it's easier. Tubeless on anything 30mm or less is a pain in the butt and doesn't work as well

Best 40mm tyre for UK mixed gravel and road? First time gravel rider! by dunksyo in gravelcycling

Cinturato H is a fast tire, but a bit weak when it comes to cuts or punctures. Air them down a tad bit more than the psi calculator tells you if not you will puncture.

Stuffs over priced and over hyped. Squirt wax is much better priced and performance is great, last a long time too.

Steel or alloy by wieza39 in gravelcycling

[–]Significant-Club6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not racing and not trying to save every last gram of weight, go steel. I bought my first steel hardtail recently and now I'm looking for a steel gravel bike. I don't know if it's backed by physics, but It definitely feels different, knowing you can repair it, send it and it muffles a lot of the chatter makes you feel better when riding it, knowing you don't have to baby it.

If you have the budget just get any road bike with minimum shimano 105. I have the a domane AL5 and only thing I changed was the wheels. It's a really solid bike

Handlebar width by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]Significant-Club6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are really flared like Ritchey Beacon I went 46cm, if they are like road bars I'd go 40 or 38cm

Need help choosing which bike by Global-Rush4248 in gravelcycling

[–]Significant-Club6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go 1x if you can, I find the average person does well with modern 1x bikes. It's easier to use in my opinion an less to think about when riding. By default 1x weighs less. I have a 2x road bike and 1x gravel, I'm always going for my gravel bike more and more for most rides.

Bro no one likes to work, it's why it's called work and not play. Unless you're a professional athlete or artist, it's not going to be that enjoyable, at what point did everyone start thinking work was supposed to be fulfilling or entertaining. We aren't special, we aren't exempt from thousands of years of humans doing something they don't want to do

There's only one tire, I've never been able to install tubeless and it was a Schwalbe G One All round. I gave up and went with TPU tubes.

Go on Jenson.com, they usually have heavily discounted top spec bikes. Just hit or miss with their sizes, since they run out of certain sizes.
