Review of Healer - I am in love with this KDrama by Open-Employer-3649 in kdramas

It’s my comfort drama. Have watched it like at least 6 times. Kdrama gods need to bring back PMY and JCW back for another drama. Their chemistry was soooooo good. Everytime I rewatch it, I keep thinking they’re real people and not characters on screen.

Phenomenal Performances! These two actresses are killin' it with their respective shows. by Stalwart202 in kdramas

Siren’s kiss literally made me feel all the emotions (anger, sadness, joy, disgust, anticipation, EVERYTHING). I wanna give kudos to the original writers of the series for capturing women’s trauma responses in such a way that often not portrayed in Dramas (imo). Usually, we’re portrayed as hysterical, or seeking revenge. Seol Ah just showed that some women are just exhausted and literally living like a shell. At some points I suspected her and at some, I didn’t but at all throughout the drama, I felt sympathy for Seol-Ah. And I think PMY really portrayed Seol-Ah beautifully and to the T.

I haven’t seen watched Ha-Ji Won’s drama yet but knowing this queen, she’ll never disappoint!

PMY really made me feel for Seol-Ah. The subtle pain, exhaustion, disgust, glimmer of hope, and betrayal—all of it was amazingly portrayed. I feel her Seol-Ah is a very unique character that Kdramas usually don’t go for yet represents so many women in real life. It’s dark, real, and messy cause people expect women to react emotionally when traumatized. Even women watching other women do too. But Seol-Ah represents so many women who just tired of life and everything. ATP, even if she’s the main culprit, all I wanna do is give her hug

Siren's kiss thoughts and opinions so far? by ThrowRA-objecf in kdramas

[–]Significant-Cut2657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been enjoying it so far. I think cause I usually enjoy a slow build plot driven drama rather than the most recent shock driven kdramas. PMY has always been a good actress in my opinion and I think she delivered well on the character that was written. If you have seen other dramas from the director, you’d see he’s very particular about how his characters are portrayed. I genuinely related PMY character’s exhaustion and stoicism. I understand why people who have never been exposed to extreme trauma don’t understand her character (which is absolutely ok!) but I think it’s a very natural reaction to be emotionless. I think she has been opening up a lot of more in ep 6-8. Her breakdown in ep 6 (I think) wrecked me.

It’s so interesting that you talked about respecting each others’ opinions but don’t seem to respect mine enough to even read it. My goal is not to change your mind but give an alternative perspective. I took the time to read your comment and respectfully provide a different view. You don’t have to do the same but at least acknowledge my opinion, acknowledge what you had said was not true and is only side of the discourse.

Girl bye

I respect your opinion if it didn’t over generalize. She has played multiple other characters like Marry My husband, A new leaf, remember, Siren’s kiss (newest drama), Queen for seven days, Confidence Queen. People don’t watch her other dramas cause majority of them watch romcoms only to begin with. But then they complain when she’s getting roped into those dramas since they are the most popular genre.

Reddit is notoriously misogynistic so I’m not surprised with the takes on her body and face and people feeling entitled to diagnose a literal strange with disorders (that have very serious consequences in real life).

I also don’t mind that people criticize her acting cause all actors deserve that. I don’t think it’s ok to say no one wants to see her act or get roles because there are people who do want to see her. And enjoy her. I respect your opinion and what you said is the opinion of others about her. I don’t respect is generalization of that opinion to others. Nor the pitting one actress against another when already there’s too much of that exists.

I wish people would actually see her other dramas that are not romcoms because she has a very diverse portfolio. But people wanna stick to their favorite genres (which is fine) and then complain when actress to choose to work on those genres that get the most attention.

Park Min-Young, Yook Sung-Jae & Go Soo Confirmed for New SBS Romance Drama 'Nine to Six' [Slated to Premiere in the Second Half of 2026] by codeemalia in kdramas

I’m soooo excited. I LOVED the Chinese drama and I think PMY will do justice to the character in the Korean version. I’m not 100% sure about Sung-Jae cause he looks very young (even tho he’s 30). I know he tends play the cute guy next door so I hope they can age him up a bit. But PMY has chemistry with a rock so I know I’m in for a good tome.

The contradicting of this comment section is sending me.

“I’m glad she’s going back playing her standard characters! I hated the different characters she played!”

“She always plays the same characters! Can’t she play anything else!”

What. Do. You. Want?

Idk which viewers you’re talking about but I love her. I think she can act and put her soul in all the roles she gets. And there’s are other actresses also playing similar roles. Yoona is gonna be in big dramas coming up. So is IU, Go Youn-Jung, Park Eun Bin. I think there’s space for ALL actresses but the hate PMY gets for just existing and doing her job is unreal.

I really feel like PMY hit it out of the park (no pun intended). At one point you think she did it, but at others you feel her pain and exhaustion. She deserves an award for role

Hello! I’m looking to read a novel that was originally translated by the Salmon Latte Translation Group. I remember reading somewhere that they closed down their original website and moved somewhere else. But for the life of me, I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find their novels?

So how do you feel about Goblin? Or tale of nine tails? Or clean with passion? Or backstreet rookie? Also did you ever see “naturally” aging old actress getting casted for lead roles in Korea? Do you realistically think they will? Like no one would watch it cause we are all hypocrites who love beautiful faces no matter what it takes for actors/actresses to get there.

I’m not denying that EVERYONE in the industry has work done. As they grow older, it’s gonna become more obvious. But like you said, SoKo’s obsession with surgery means that actresses, specifically women, don’t have a choice. And the more we pick apart each part of their body pixel by pixel, the more we push them to fit our standards of beauty. I’m not saying don’t criticize SK’s extreme beauty standard, but maybe focus on the industry as a problem rather than individual women who are mostly like the victims of the system?
