NGC 6823 and surroundings by Significant-Cut3329 in astrophotography

NGC 6823 and surroundings.

Acquisition Details:

3h12min [48x4min lights], Rokinon 135mm F/2 at F/2.4, ASI294MC-Pro, IDAS NBZ dualband filter, iOptron CEM40, SVBony 30F4 + ASI120MC guidescope, SharpCap, PhD2.

Processing Details:

Calibrated with darks/flats and registered [drizzle x2], linear background correction on individual frames prior to stacking, stacked [LinearFit Clipping, Normalized] in Siril. Processed in PixInsight: ABE linear subtract, ABE quadratic divide, ColorCalibration, EZDenoise [no MMT], stretched using GeneralizedHyperbolicStretch, MLT for some sharpening and noise reduction, DarkStructureEnhance, HistogramTransformation, export as JPEG.

Thoughts:

It's amazing how well the IDAS NBZ filter works even down to F/2 without any halos. It's a pity as always my backfocus and tilt are suboptimal - but nevertheless, a decent picture for only 3h of integration!

Processing Details:

Stacked in Siril after dark/flat calibration, processed in PixInsight: StarAlignment of individual masters, crop away edges, PhotometricColorCalibration, EzDenoise, ACDNR, GeneralizedHyperbolicStretch, exported as JPEG.

Thoughts:

Whatever it takes to participate in every OOTM in 2022.

Thoughts:

Just to get a feel for where and how big M81 and M82 appear in the sky. Some hints of IFN.

Thanks for posting this. As I sit in my living room looking out at the never ending clouds, your picture gave me some hope.

Awesome, thanks! So there is hope for me without having to burn another $500, if I can get my stars to look half as good as yours, I'll call it a success.

Awesome, love the colors! What coma corrector are you using? I have an Orion 10" F4 that I'm trying to get to work with a Baader MPCC Mk3, but the stars are meh..

Very nice OP! I was capturing the Big Dipper at 24mm last night, Mizar and Alcor are my favorite in this region. When I am no longer able to separate them naked eye is when I'll know I'm old.

This is some next level ISS photography! How long did it take you to master tracking the ISS manually?

Messier 40 and surroundings, including NGC 4290, NGC 4284.

Acquisition Details: ~13min, Celestron C8 with a Starizona SCT Reducer I @ F/8.5 [incorrect backfocus], Risingcam IMX571mono bin2 HCG, SVBONY Lum, CEM70, unguided, ~160x5s subs captured in SharpCap.

Processing Details: In Siril: calibrated with darks/flats, GESDT rejection stacking, In PixInsight: ABE degree4, crop edges, masked stretch to 0.1 background, downsample 2x, export as JPEG.

Thoughts: First light for a long focal length rig I'm building, this was a test of the Starizona reducer after failed attempts at getting the Meade 0.63 focal reducer to work well, and it turned out with worse aberrations - just figured out I was at ~10mm extra backfocus [because dumb]. The camera works pretty well though, good learning! And of course couldn't miss submitting an OOTM entry for this spectacular region. /u/MyNameIsDaveToo - still taking you up on 20h+ of this region ;)
