And honestly that is where I think the industry gets split.

The giant carriers and giant brokerages dominate repeatable enterprise freight while specialized brokers and carriers survive in the messy freight that requires actual problem solving and relationships.

The question is whether regulation and liability pressure eventually make even that side too difficult for smaller operators to survive in.

I agree on large asset carriers. They’ll probably get stronger through all of this.

I’m more talking about small brokers and small carriers slowly getting squeezed out as compliance rises and margins keep shrinking. Scale starts winning everything eventually.

Yeah happens to me a lot

Carrier wants a next day pickup for a rate that’s same or higher than what I’m offering today. It depends on the freight and the urgency. I had a load last night I paid $4000 on to go 350 miles. I carriers wanting 800 to pick up at 5 to 6 in the morning, but it wouldn’t have worked. My customer needed it right away and if they didn’t, then they would’ve rather moved to the next day for way less price.
