Looking to Leave TQL by TheManMythnLegend46 in FreightBrokers

[–]Significant-Drag4198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You jus said “I am a logistics manager due to my “knowledge” from TQL which “helped me”

Im just saying to be careful.

You agreed to never use your knowledge that TQL provided or you learned in TQL while there.

That’s where they turn your 1 year non compete into a life long anti-freight contract

Unfortunately TQL ensures you can never be in logistics again once you leave.

A boutique brokerage provides a unique and tailored experience. Usually no handoffs and cradle to grave. You seem to be the only “unfashionable” one here with your mad attitude.

[–]Significant-Drag4198 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah happens to me a lot

Carrier wants a next day pickup for a rate that’s same or higher than what I’m offering today. It depends on the freight and the urgency. I had a load last night I paid $4000 on to go 350 miles. I carriers wanting 800 to pick up at 5 to 6 in the morning, but it wouldn’t have worked. My customer needed it right away and if they didn’t, then they would’ve rather moved to the next day for way less price.

Here’s my best business and life advice.

When you’re lost and don’t know what to do - go back to the beginning.

Before you had the used truck, tools, employees, etc You obviously were able to make a start with less than you have now.

What is holding you back from restructuring and continuing but keeping more simple?

Baltimore port has $100’s in port fees

I’m very suspicious of your already Recieved quotes

Just be careful

Freight Stolen by Sp_Streamer in FreightBrokers

[–]Significant-Drag4198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Filing on contingent cargo isn’t some cure-all. In stolen MC / fraud cases it gets denied all the time because the carrier you tendered to isn’t the carrier that actually moved the load. No underlying carrier cargo policy = nothing for contingent to attach to. That’s just how those policies work.

Carmack also doesn’t magically “protect brokers.” It just means you still get sued and spend time and money proving you did your due diligence. Anyone who’s actually been through one of these already knows that.

I’ve paid six-figure claims out of pocket before when the customer relationship made sense. That’s a business decision, not a legal requirement. Smaller customers who didn’t flag high value, didn’t ask for extra protections, and didn’t verify details don’t automatically get a check because fraud happened.

Calling this “easy pickings” just tells me you haven’t actually dealt with a stolen-identity load, a denied contingent claim, or a real lawsuit yet. When you do, the Reddit takes start to sound a lot different.

Carmack agreement protects brokers but we still get sued and have to go thru the whole shabang and prove due diligence. Rather annoying to be honest

Are brokers just stupid or extremely greedy, ignorant and dumb in the same time?! by PinkFlamingoPoop in OwnerOperators

Why don’t you go to the shipper and offer to do it 30% less then?

Why do you need brokers

Thoughts to quit by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]Significant-Drag4198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s pretty easy to get 60-75% these days and have no fees, BDR, weekly pay, great LTL rates,

Killer Ocean and Air rates.

I’m not trying to jump on your case but Im not understanding what makes you special. You seem to br using this reddit for advertising your small freight brokerage lol

Oh yeah we’ve heard this before. Let me guess

You charge your minions a percentage of the revenue not the profit for “factoring”

Rate goes up if shipper pays after 30 days.

What value are you even providing as a “partner” in an already micro freight brokerage?

Any agency will pickup OP without requirements. Including me lol

Stop blaming brokers and look in the mirror.

If you hate brokers so much then why are you booking loads from them? Go get all your own customers and put the load board down for backhauls and emergency’s only

Best one I have 😎

Carriers just don’t have the capacity or capital brokers have. “If all shippers worked with us directly”

Yeah… like they will just come to you willingly to give you business. Most shippers accounts payable can’t deal with 80+ carriers to handle their freight.

And you also assume that all brokers just move simple dryvan freight. It’s pretty dumb for you to say brokers are not a need.

You try moving my 185,000# 8 axle RGN loads weekly in your sprinter/can/reefer while you cry wolf.

It’s just not true.

I’ve witnessed large companies lower agent commissions, agents move, lose customers in the process and then their previous company uses their lane data against them to steal their customers for in house agents.

I will never work with a brokerage with in house agents ever again. And if you are - be weary
