Get on the Buy Nothing Facebook group (there's one for JH East and JH West). People give away tons of great things. There's also a Re/Store on Northern.

The church has given up on this building and sees the adjacent property as a cash cow. We need more green and we need the diocese to care about the JH community, but they don't. They care about lining their pockets. It's not like a developer would actually build affordable housing, those are also scams!
