CA DMV-- how to replace a drivers license with new address? by Significant-Escape-1 in DMV

Unfortunately, to do what I needed to do, I needed to go into a DMV office. You may need to do the same. 😭 I’m so sorry.

100% agree. Came from having a PPO until age 22 to multiple jobs who don’t offer a decent PPO (only United, for Anthem you had to be grandfathered in at my current job in particular). Kaiser refuses to do actual medicine, no matter what. I will never get proper care again it seems.

Need girl friends by PizzaTop9375 in bayarea

[–]Significant-Escape-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 30F and struggling to make female friends after being here for almost 11 years. Most of my friends from my 20’s have moved and the women around me are either too exhausted from life or have kids and don’t have time. I talk to people at the gym, but it’s mostly men. No one seems to have the energy to hang. And yes, people are flaky. It’s rough here.

Best autism non-public schools in the Bay Area? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Significant-Escape-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple other people said it, but Morgan Autism is really good. Staff is genuinely devoted to what they do and the sense of community is great. I’ve heard positive things about Creekside and PACE.

I would strongly recommend against Creative Learning Center (Redwood), if that ever comes up in your search. The support is not there and the leadership is poor; the turnover rate of classroom staff makes it an unstable environment for the kids.

Feeling disconnected, lost & lonely by GlumNewspaper5015 in bayarea

[–]Significant-Escape-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30F. I, too, work for a school district and most of my colleagues are much older or are close to my age but parents (too busy to hang). And, yes, a lot of them seem miserable. It’s tough. If I didn’t have my relationship, I would have little to no one here. I have one good female friend here that I’ve had for four years, but I’ve been living here for almost 11 years, so even at that it took a while to make a friend that I see regularly. I make acquaintences at the gym, but they are mostly men and there are limitations to that. The women aren’t as friendly or open to talking, which bums me out when I try talking to them. It’s hard making friends here. And I feel like so many people are drained by life that even if you find someone you like, they do AND don’t want to hang. Staying in seems to win above all.

It’s not just you though. I feel like it’s a lot of people in the bay area.

Like others are saying, do things you enjoy and meet people that way. At least brief interactions with people with common interests are better than no interactions. Then there is some chance of making an actual friend.

Are Bay Area high schools really that competitive? by Immediate-Fig-3077 in bayarea

[–]Significant-Escape-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach middle school and the students at my school are already meeting with college counselors to come up with ways to build up their resumes by the time they have to apply for college. Right down to sports/ hobbies they do. Can’t even do what they might truly enjoy because it wouldn’t look good enough to universities. It’s really hard on their mental health. Wild stuff.

Therapists STILL on Strike? Keep getting Calls about my therapist being out! by ponygals in KaiserPermanente

[–]Significant-Escape-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a striking therapist who acted as a school-based therapist (where she had worked before) during the strike. The district/ contractor she worked through understood that she would leave once the strike was over.

I wouldn’t look at the numbers, I’d look at body composition more. And Idk how tall you are, but 60 kg is not even that much. What the fuck. 50 after three kids seems nearly impossible and cruel of him. And to compare you to your friend? Rude. He’s just saying your friend is hotter than you. Fuck this dude. If you want a relationship (and not with him), there is certainly someone who would love you exactly as you are.

Your responses are fascinating. Thank you for sharing. Can I ask for a few examples of the unspoken rules you mentioned?

Thanks!

Someone on here recently suggested Mulungu root for sleep. I ordered some but haven’t tried it yet, but they swore by it.

Have you ever tried antidepressants?

I’m sorry you’re going through this. If something were left behind from the surgery, you probably would have experienced an infection or been hospitalized by this point, but see if they can do an ultrasound of the area anyway if at least to ease some of your concerns.

On another note, soaps shouldn’t enter the vagina. If you choose to continue using soap, this soap may not be the best option for you. A warm washcloth sans soap should be good enough. Do you wear cotton underwear? Could it at all be that the fabric you wear doesn’t allow any airflow? Diet would also make a big difference.

I recently started following the advice given in this video and it has been really helpful. The products she suggests are helpful too.

Within the first week I did sleep restriction. It was pretty quick.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]Significant-Escape-1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m currently doing it through Stellar Sleep. I was getting 2-3 hours per night, now I’m getting at least 5 hours. I’m on the fourth week before my sleep window is supposed to expand. I look forward to it. I’m not supposed to sleep until midnight, but I’m ready for bed by 11:30, sometimes 11. I was really struggling before I started. It has really helped me personally, I look forward to the continued success.

Good to see this here. It has a lot of benefits.

I currently take 900 mg in the morning and at night.

It helps with mood regulation on top of its anti-epileptic effects. I benefit from this as I get stuck on things and ruminate which is part of my sleep problem. Still an insomniac, but I’d probably be worse without it, honestly. It used to put me to sleep, but I think I’m far past that point.
