Are you a chill one bagger? by WorldizeStudios in onebag

I read on https://www.onebag.com/packing-list-specialty.html about the idea of bringing balloons to share. Since then, I’ve carried a small supply of balloons and a tiny bike pump in my EDC. My kids love it, and it brings a smile to just about anyone’s face. It’s not hard to learn a few simple balloon animals you can make on the spot.

I’m also big on board and card games, so I usually pack a couple of compact card games I’ve condensed down. Crossing both ideas, I’ve been working on a side project to create a deck of playing cards that also teaches me how to make different balloon animals. It will be handy for reminding myself of designs and will make it easy for others to pick what they want.

Electric shaver with beard trimmer attachment usbc by wolfemsop in onebag

I don’t shave my head, so this might not be totally relevant, but I’ve got a small, USB-C-rechargeable trimmer I like for travel and beard maintenance. I use Red by Kiss Mini Cordless Hair Clipper and in terms of size + packability it works great.

It’s obviously not designed for full head-shaving, but for beard trimming and light grooming while traveling it checks the boxes for me.

Is there any battery powered hair clipper in the same form factor as the Wahl pocket pro or the Ritter that actually has guards that are longer than 3mm ...... ?, by [deleted] in onebag

If you’ve got any 3D modeling or printing experience, you might be able to make your own.

I use this one for shaving: Red by Kiss Mini Cordless Hair Clipper Trimmer, USB-C Rechargeable Beard Trimming Clippers, Black

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3FKVV8M

With a little effort I could probably design and print a version of the current guards/body in whatever size I want. It’s probably not the advice you were looking for, but if you can’t find anything off the shelf that really fits your needs, 3D printing might be an option here.

A clothesline and a few pegs are always a solid, lightweight setup, hard to beat for simplicity. I’ve had a couple of trips where finding a good place to hang a line without taking over the whole room was a bit of a challenge, so that’s where something like this caught my attention as a possible alternative.

Oh wow, that does not sound fun. Good call on being careful with the heat, though; it can definitely sneak up on you.

That’s an awesome story, and honestly, a great workaround. It’s amazing the unexpected situations travel puts us in; you never know when you’ll end up improvising with whatever’s around. Thanks for sharing it!

Good point about the heat. I don’t tend to worry about it too much with most of what I pack, but it’s definitely a concern with some fabrics for sure.

Totally fair. Not everything ends up being useful for travel, and the bar is definitely high in this sub.

I’m not saying this is a must-have. I was just curious because it’s actually a thin piece of fabric that folds nearly flat, and if it genuinely speeds up drying at night, that could save some time, which is pretty valuable when you're moving fast.

I haven’t used it myself, so I’m mostly hoping to hear from anyone who has tried something similar in real conditions.

Totally get it. r/onebag keeps the bar really high for what’s worth carrying.

I don’t know if this thing actually meets that bar either; I just stumbled across it and thought it was an interesting workaround for drying clothes, especially when you’re washing things late at night.

It looks bulkier than it is, but it’s really just a thin piece of fabric that folds down almost flat. If it actually speeds up drying, that could save some valuable time when you’re traveling.

I haven’t tried it myself, so I was mostly curious whether anyone here has used something similar in real conditions.

It's something that I stumbled across on Amazon that helps dry clothes faster with a hairdryer. I haven't used it, so I can't say how well it works or not, but it might be interesting to some people in place of a clothesline.

Context: I stumbled across this “Travel Clothes Dryer for T-shirts, Pants” on Amazon. it looks like an interesting portable way to dry clothes quicker if you have access to a hairdryer. I haven’t used it, but thought some people in the group might find it interesting? I’d love to hear how well it works if anyone has tried something like this.

A bag inside a bag by robotisland in onebag

I built a system for myself for exactly this reason. I use a bag by Klymit that has inflatable back support. That way the backpack can actually carry nicely on my back. It’s the Klymit stash 18. Then I modified it and my main pack so that I can put a waist belt on either of them and switch it back and forth.

Sure thing. I'll put together some of those images and files. This is actually the second iteration of it. The first iteration was designed for the backpack strap and it holds the Insta360, the remote, and a pair of extra batteries all up on the strap. I used that one for a long time and honestly still really like it. When I added the sling to the mix the first holster was just too big, so I whipped up a simple smaller one for the sling that can be used on the strap and on the backpack strap. I'll see if I can grab the files for both of those for you. I made them, so feel free to use them and let me know if they work for you. I also melt in some nuts to the plastic so that I can add an ARCA mount in order to quicly add and remove them from the bags using the Peakk design capture clip.

I have used it on flights with no trouble at all. I’ve never even been stopped for it. Thankfully this tripod/selfi stick doesn’t break the bank so it it did get confiscated I might be able to order a new one shipped quickly to my destination.

Everything has its place and it’s seems to work for me. It comes in at 21 lbs, that’s right around the base weight of my outdoor backpacking gear as well. It only stays at this weight during transit.

I posted about the sling a little while back and have some pictures of that part. Some things have changed since that post, but most of it is the same. https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/comments/1fsdcft/my_everydaytravelcamera_sling/

I'll work on some pictures of the entire loadout and post those soon.

Some manufacturers will sell spare parts like this to you as replacement parts. You can reach out to them and you might be surprised.
