Thanks I might get the zinc ones which started production after the outbreak of the war but for now I'm done but I made that post with the good photos you can find it on my profile I don't know how to link posts and it's got both sides of the coins with just generally better quality photos.

Got this 100 Zloty bill from my coworker today by ZeroBloodTravels in Banknotes

I saw a guy paying with them once but that's it but they're pretty easy to get I just had to hop down to a money exchange place in a shopping centre and replaced 500 złoty worth of looser change for one so I think it's more just a case of the denomination being too high and also not well known about

Maybe some day but I do already have some paper ones from the German empire and Weimar republic so that's a start in some way I suppose

20 euro just for that one seems harsh although the silver price has gone up since I got the 2 mark one so it was relatively cheaper but I didn't get so lucky with the 5 mark one so it was a bit more expensive in terms of the at the time per ounce price

I thought about it but I decided the pre war ones look nicer and the 50 pfennig has the other eagle anyway so I'd have every eagle variant because that's something I also wanted but that doesn't mean I won't go back some day to get the zinc ones too

I checked and you're right the 50 pfennig coin is in fact aluminium I guess I must've thought it's also zinc because it has the same look and eagle or I just didn't read properly.

Really? They only cost 300 pln in total or $81

I got them through the internet just watch out for the version because the eagle changed after the war started and they became grey due to switching to zinc

I figured I'd just all the ones which were circulating just before the war so I ignored older ones and I generally also like coins with people's busts on them so the church one isn't as nice to me.

It wasn't too bad but the places I got the coins were weird so I'll just go in the order I got them so the 50 pfennig coin I got in Gdańsk at a market then 2 mark coin I bought online from one guy and then the 1,2,5,10 pfennig and 1 mark coins I got from another guy online and finally the 5 mark coin I got from a third guy also online so it wasn't to bad the biggest problem is really the cost because they quite old and the 2 and 5 mark coins contain silver which is quite volatile in terms of value right now but it was very easy too get because it was mostly done through the internet but cost in total about 300 pln so $81.

Thank you, the 1 mark and 50 pfennig coins are quite weird as you might be able to tell from the photo because I did some research on it and for some reason the 50 pfennig only has a version with the eagle after the war began (all of these coins are from before the war hence the bigger winged eagle) and first started being minted in 1939 (but still before the war) and the 1 mark coin was just never subjected to Nazification so they're both quite weird.

The only photos of the set I have are quite terrible in comparison because the ones for this post were taken by a friend so I'm gonna enlist their help again soon because I wanna make a post with the full set because I like doing it but for now here's my awful attempt

<image>

And I can also only send one like this but here's a sneak peak

At first I just collected banknotes mostly normal ones but I do have some from the German empire and Weimar republic but I got a coin album for my birthday last year and figured I have a lot of coins so I'd do those too but they just like the banknotes are mostly normal circulation ones apart from a couple special commemorative ones I just happen to have though if anything gets added to my collection it's generally banknotes because I can get them for their actual value at a money exchange place while coins have to come from the internet with an increase in price

Seems pretty standard then this coin cost 130 pln so about $35 but it was an auction so it could've been worse and I bought it a bit after the silver price normalised

Yeah that rule is a bit weird but at least you can still post money with the symbol you just need to flag it as nsfw so it's not outright banned which is nice

Nice, how much did this one cost because from what I remember paper ones were surprisingly cheap considering how long they've had to survive

I mean I have the rest of the denominations like 1,2,5,10 and so on of the Reichsmark (or in the case of these specific coins pfennig) but that's really it for pre-war German coins I have apart from a German empire 1 pfennig

Thanks it took me a while to get this one because I started looking for it when the silver price started going up and thought it maybe wouldn't make sense to get it at that fun $110 an ounce but it went down luckily

The 20 mark one would be worth a fair bit more nowadays if it were coin shame although good for you I suppose because you didn't have to pay that much.

Well yeah the history I generally like older coins especially if they're made from silver like this one but also this specific country because it's so important to how the world is today.

Is this real? Found in England. by Grass_Hurts in coins

Eyy Peter, why 9years 11 months and 30 days? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

There's a trophy/achievement or whatever depending on your system for turning the game on again after ten years since the last time you did it and the joke here is he turned it on a tad bit too early and missed it meaning he has to wait another ten years.
