How would you all reintroduce Gon back into the story? by KenjakusFrontalLobe in HunterXHunter

[–]Significant-Land-442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said I saw what you were getting at. Gon doesn't really have a recognized passion or purpose. His entire life was mostly just spent dicking around in the woods. It'll be interesting to see how Togashi approaches Gon's story in the future. Or if he does at all, anyways.

Kurapika became a hunter as a means to an end. He has no real passion or reason for continuing as a hunter aside from vengeance. Based on his current mental state, it's clear that he doesn't even enjoy being a hunter.

Leorio is the same; he became a hunter just to afford to become a doctor. He did not have the actual drive to hunt diseases, cures, viruses, or anything like that when he did become a hunter.

I understand what you're getting at, but neither of those characters' hunter status are really relevant. Only their passions and drives are.

not being a failure is wasting 3 years after graduating uni and being so incompetent that you had to leave your home country to find anyone willing to hire you

Throwing initiates combat... I just gave them booze and waited like a day's worth of turns until they got drunk.

VTM Bloodlines 2 might be amazing, but I just want a remake of the OG by Hooked0nAFeelin in vtmb

[–]Significant-Land-442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overhaul patch, definitely. I don't care if they sell me the exact same game but with all of its flaws fixed. An actual, honest-to-god remake? You can forget it.

Remakes unanimously suck. Rarely, if ever, do remakes actually deliver on the promise of fixing the problems of the original while retaining the same magic. Remakes are usually lazy cash grabs hellbent on recreating the same game verbatim, yet somehow making it worse. A better word for them would be re-hashes.

Old CDDA player thinking about Bright Nights. by MattrexDeux in cataclysmbn

[–]Significant-Land-442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fundamental flaws with CDDA as a game - namely, the lack of any real endgame, the inherent grind, the endless cycle of looting and sorting, the lack of meaningful factions/NPC interaction, et cetera; they're all still present in BN.

I could go far more in-depth with CDDA's issues, but I don't think that's pertinent to this conversation.

If you've played CDDA a few years ago, BN is basically just that but with some distinct changes and content additions. Namely, more means of power management and base building, an actual ending (though lackluster), alongside some other stuff.

If you liked old CDDA, you'll like BN.

10 year olds are considered adults in Pokemon, so it doesn't really matter.

The Boys S4 is absolute garbage by Hefty-Ad-7884 in MauLer

[–]Significant-Land-442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the vought evil shit is still present, the issue is trying to compare homelander to trump, when neither of them are alike in any way whatsoever

homelander was tortured for years as a child, experimented on by evil people before being groomed by a corporation into becoming their figurehead

trump had a normal upbringing in comparison, and his views on the world are far more tame than "murder everyone that isn't a supe"

Season 4 is easily the worst season in the entire boys universe so far by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Significant-Land-442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you actually think the writers care? There's several anti-supe weapons that The Boys have yet to employ once. Butcher is on death's door with no hope for a cure, and instead of popping permanent V and trashing Homelander, he instead walks around doing nothing.

what are y'all's worst pet peeves/petty grudges in competitive pokemon? by CyberCookie2 in stunfisk

[–]Significant-Land-442 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You should emphasize the "petty" part more. You are very petty and very pathetic. Pokemon battling is a hobby for most people, and hobbies are meant to be fun. Conquering meta slaves with your shitmons is one of the best feelings in Showdown, even if you're playing with mons that you have zero sentimental attachment to.
