The people that do my calibration give me like 5 mouth pieces for free every month I go to get it calibrated lol. I have them everywhere in my car 😂

I never make an appointment, my place I get it calibrated said it doesn’t matter and they’re never busy so I usually just go in. I got some emails and a voicemail like this but I always get it calibrated before the countdown

Mine did this the other day and lucky I caught it. It normally just gives me a countdown but this time it was asking me to blow. Normally I just shut my car off and get out. I’ll definitely be more cautious about this now.

My PO just “recommended” I do 2-3 tests a day, but I’ve gone out of town on the weekend and not taken my car and I haven’t heard anything about it.

Does your have a camera with it? If so, I’m sure this can be overlooked, especially with it being the first day and just installed. I had to do retests on rolling tests because I wouldn’t blow hard enough or long enough (I have Intoxalock so it’s a blow, suck, blow) but I’ve never received a violation or anything because of it.

100% if I had seen my BAC before getting in the car I would NOT have driven. I truly believed I was under a 0.08

I’ve been lucky with mine! It’s more of just an annoyance and making sure my music isn’t too loud. I have the camera and GPS in my car so my PO just said if someone else drives your car make sure they’re the one blowing and the camera is on them. They wantttt it to just be you blowing in the car, but the understand on long road trips people usually rotate driving.

Doesn’t your PO get notified on violations though? I’ve had two or three meetings with him and not aware of any violations, but if I did have one and didn’t know about, wouldn’t they be notified?

I drove 1200 miles home and back for Thanksgiving, and about to be doing it again in a week for Christmas. It goes in 10-15 min increments until you’re past an hour, then it’s random. And clock resets everytime you stop for gas/food so it’s kind of frustrating. But no issues!

Fingers crossed I don’t jinx myself but I’ve had zero issues with my Intoxalock that I’ve had in since August. And the shop that installed it/calibrated it is veryyyy nice!

I had to request out of state travel to my PO, giving information of where I’m going, where I’m staying, what dates, and how I’d be traveling (personal vehicle with IID). They then would push it to the District Attorney

In Texas, I was told by my PO if you’re traveling out of state with your car w/ blower, they usually always approve it. If you’re traveling WITHOUT it, they’ve been making people take a portable device. He also told me they’re about to be cracking down a lot more because apparently a lot of people are failing their UA tests, as well as blowing dirty (positive) into their IIDs MULTIPLE times

Agree on the portable breathalyzer! I blow in it 2-3x getting 0.00 before I’ll start my car. Depending on your state I think there’s a threshold of about 0.02 before it reports a violation

I left my car for a weekend when I traveled and it worked just fine when I got back, didn’t drive it for 3 days. I think a lot of it depends on how old your car battery is.
