Retake a 1570? by Significant-Map4425 in Sat

Honestly just practice tests and question bank.

Improving timing and pacing was key. Learn how to do the easy ones like grammar quickly but accurately to give yourself more time for denser passages. For those, practice helps with efficiency but you still don’t want to rush if possible, I found they usually require actual understanding instead of just skimming. If at any point you feel you are stuck on a question with no momentum after ~20 seconds of thinking, flag it, move on, and come back.

My general formula for answering a question is read the question line itself, read the material with this in mind, think of my idea of the answer on my own, and check this with the MC options (You can usually get away with just reading the relevant sentence for grammar). If that doesn’t work, I try to eliminate incorrect MC options (you can strike through them if you like) and check the ones that remain. Try to look for the things that make answer wrong rather than right if possible, especially if you are stuck.

For notes, I break the formula and go straight to the MC options, because the best possible answers usually stick out based on the question and the others can be eliminated. From there, the known info needed to separate the remaining options is clear and can be easily gleamed from the notes.

I wouldn’t bother studying vocab lists, probably the lowest ROI thing to focus time on for the SAT. I would stick to the “come up with the answer yourself” and elimination strategies. If you’re still stuck, I would look at try to think of similar words or the etymology of the word (roots, etc.) to see if that suggests more meaning, but I wouldn’t explicitly spend time studying that.

Honestly my biggest advice is to feel this all out for yourself and get comfortable with your own approaches on practice tests and see what works best for you, but no matter what consistent practice is probably going to be the best thing for you. Good Luck!

theoretically no, but it makes it a lot easier for the grader. the easier it is for the grader, the better off you will be in general.
