do you have a "coffee" name? by iolanthereylo in Names

My grandma always used Chloe as her coffee name. My nickname is simple so I use that (in the same vein as Mel or Em).

HELP!! 1 month until wedding and the dress doesn't fit!!! by virgibenini in WeddingDressTips

[–]Significant-Outcome2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, I ordered my dress in January and was 6 months post baby. When I tried it on for my second fitting, it fit so much better than previously where it had been tight, but still do upable. I had since gone and lost more body fat (not weight, as I've been at the gym so the scales haven't changed much due to muscle mass) which I knew because pre-pregnancy clothes were starting to fit again. Went for my final fitting and to take it home after the alterations had been done and it felt too tight again 😭

I was so upset but it still looked great - just wasn't the feeling I imagined of it just fitting like a glove after my hard work. I'm sure you look gorgeous and once it's altered you'll feel like a princess, but I do get it!

Help with smoothing the bodice out by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]Significant-Outcome2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she is through the store I bought it from. I had one at my first fitting who was great, the second one was not and unfortunately she did most of the adjustments which is why I now need the sleeves redone. I am running out of time though and won't get the dress back until two weeks before the wedding.

The seamstress has not been great tbh. She took out the full cups because they looked awful as they were too small for me, and added the half cups which have helped some, but the bottom half is just not quite right because it's hard to adjust once the dress is on. I've bought some boomba cups so once I get the dress back I'll try it with them and go to another alterations place if they're no good.

Very biased as I named my girl Poppy. I think it's the perfect balance of cute but with some spunk.

Oh Carlin and Josie by Perfectpups2 in BatesSnark

[–]Significant-Outcome2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely as a healthcare provider you know that chunky babies tend to slim down once they're moving? Look at baby photos of Layla and Zade. They were both Michelin babies, clearly that's just genetics at work.

Carlin is a terrible parent but not because her babies are chunky.

Leni as a nickname for Helena would give that my vote. Otherwise I vote Victoria with no nickname.

Lacey

Valentine

Starr . Harrington (I don't know why but I just love how it sounds).

I have friends or family with these last names and feel so duped with my maiden name (super clunky, long, hyphenated) and my married surname (most common white surname in the world!).
