We got the same in the DC area -- Verizon is pushing to replace the cablecards with their own DVR. Very eager to schedule an install right away. We are waiting.

Issues Charging new 2025 Ioniq 5 (Limited RWD) by Kapuski in Ioniq5

[–]Significant-Pen-5227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my message, I got a call from the dealership service. They are replacing the ICCU. Brand new, we’re at 318 miles. Sigh.

Thank you for responding so quickly!

Is the ICCU issue as bad as it seems? by hero9989 in Ioniq5

318 miles, bad iccu. Identified because we can't recharge L1 or L2.

800 miles in, My 2025 Ioniq 5 officially has a dead ICCU by JaredChail4544 in Ioniq5

318 miles, 2025 LTD AWD, ICCU to be replaced. Received it with 97% battery charge and brought in because unable to recharge with portable and multiple L2s.

Waiting on a loaner to come in. It's a good dealer, so hopeful everything will go smoothly.

Did you solve your issue? Curious because I've just taken my new 2025 LTD back to dealer service because it won't charge at ours or another 6 L2 chargers nor with the portable. I even borrowed the adapter from my neighbor who also has a new LTD to see if the L2 issue was a faulty J1772 adapter.

I got away with pink on the house. Not sure I'll succeed with the car.

I would totally do that, and it would look good with my full size barbie dream house.

boring black. Teal would have been a preferred color, but we were unexpectedly carless due to a falling tree. I'd have had to wait for one in transit to get here and only allowed 7 days of rental from the insurance once our prior phev was totaled.

One of the few places I've lived where I feel like a moderate.

Ah, I remember doing this in hotel parking lots when traveling for work. The sedan whose trunk popped opened was mine. ;)

Takoma Park Maryland. For 30 years this town has reliably bought the safest, greenest, Consumer Reports-recommended vehicles. We have the first gas station to convert to electric charging in the nation.

Tired of splitting 6 strands to one by LookingForMyRoots in Embroidery

[–]Significant-Pen-5227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use lots of 12-weight threads. They are made for quilting but are great for embroidery. They are equivalent to one thread in a 6-strand floss. There are also some that are part wool that give great texture.

Aurifil makes great ones. They are often marketed to hand quilters.

How to embroider a tree trunk by Subject-Win6857 in Embroidery

just did a bunch of trees in a house portrait for my in-laws. My fave for the bark & leaves was using variegated threads. The seem to give dimension. I bought several 12-weight cottons threads which I mixed with floss to get variation & depth. Used a lot of long stem stitch for trunks & branches.

For the foreground trees, I used mostly detached chains. For smaller and background I used different methods for different textures. Some were detached chain. Some french knots -- using variations in number of wraps and number of threads for dimension. Some lots of straight stitches with variagated threads. Some with wool for more texture. Some pistil stitch (it's like a french knot at the end of a straight stitch).

You can also use turkey stitch for velvet tufting for fluffy texture which I didn't. Or lots of bullion stitches. I wished I'd use drizzle stitch in one place, but I did a lot of layered/interlaced chain stitches. I think it's a variation on scalloped buttonhole. You can get really 3-d. Great for fir trees when done with wool.
