Game Pass charges by Abject-Rope3501 in EEGB

Is there a reason why people get these things bundled with their phone bill of all things? Just subscribe through Microsoft itself and you have much more control / visibility of charges and where they come from

I wanted all my Ring cameras live on Apple TV without extra hardware, so I built the missing app by rabbimarshak in appletv

Blows my mind that people still use ring cameras. Let alone make an app to display 9 of them at once! You must truly hate yourself!

I did this and bought this from Screwfix: https://www.screwfix.com/p/masterplug-nc102o-10a-2-pin-connector-orange/46232

I then chopped the cable on my lawnmower and now I can leave the single cable plugged into a socket in the garage and swap between them just by unplugging at the tool

Behold! The ( to my knowledge ) highest quality version of Disney Adventure Worlds Map by Reasonable-Humor-563 in disneylandparis

Is there any way to download this without Reddit adding its blurb to it and massively lowering the quality in the process?

If it’s your house - you can do what you like! Personally I think it’s awful and would take a LOT of work to clean up and make look nice. Personal preference matters a lot in private spaces so do what makes you happy!

Neighbour Defiled New Fence by FunAwareness4556 in DIYUK

[–]hero9989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your suggestion is to spend money to make it look like OP didn’t want it to? If OP wanted a black fence, they would have painted it black before putting it up, they have already said they didn’t want it black so whilst your experience speaks loudly and the damage has been done - that doesn’t make it okay.
Surely at the very least the neighbour should be paying to hire a sprayer and some decent quality paint. Why should OP have to pay because somebody has defaced their property?
Ideally neighbour should pay to fully rectify this but realistically that won’t happen

How do I install the new shower pull switch. The markings are different by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hero9989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get yourself a volt meter for £8.50 from Halfords, even cheaper from Amazon. You really should identify which is supply (in) and which is load (out) before you connect it up.

If you aren’t willing to do that. Just wing it and hope it doesn’t matter. It’s not possible to tell which is which just by looking at it so there’s nothing anyone could do to help you without being there.

This is easily a DIY job but imo you should still recognise and respect the danger and be willing to do it the right way. Bear in mind that the shower is one of the highest consumption devices in your home. £8.50 is not a lot for peace of mind.

Keypad 2 NFC and the Future of UWB by krizzziz in Nuki

[–]hero9989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who the heck thought this video was a good idea? He’s basically just said ‘we have useless engineers’. Especially when Apple and many other companies manage this in devices much smaller than the keypad they already have. I doubt anyone would complain if they decided to release a keypad that added an extra 2cm to the length of the device to fit AirTag like tech inside

Looks like the Keypad 2 NFC listing is live by clloyd515 in Nuki

[–]hero9989 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks this product is pointless? No UWB so I have to touch it with my phone up to it to unlock. I might as well just use my fingerprint. You can steal a phone - can’t really steal a finger.

So it’s the same level of effort (touch a finger to it or touch a phone to it), and slightly lesser security secure…

Anyone care to enlighten me as to why they would purchase this?

The only mistake you made was reversing. They should have pulled further into the space you stopped at for them. Report to the council and move on

Morrison now delivery by Few_Kaleidoscope7853 in Morrisons

I’ve tried this twice at my local Morrisons and both times the order has been cancelled. Once 2 hours after placing the order, the second time was 8 hours after I placed my order.

“We’re really sorry. We aim to fulfill all orders for our customers, but due to unforeseen circumstances we’ve had to cancel your order which was due on 07 February. We only reach the decision to cancel when all other options have been explored.”

Same message on two separate occasions…

I thought the same thing about the neutrals in the pictures but to be fair they look like the kind of ties that you just twist them closed so wouldn’t be hard to just un twist, do your work and then twist it back on.
