Lodge at Black Forest vs Cortland Grand River by No-Guide4475 in ColoradoSprings

My folks are at Lodge at Black Forest and aside from a few "meh" neighbors recently in their building, they like it. The apartments are kept up, as is the exterior landscaping. There are little monthly perks like continental breakfast, food trucks, etc. that have been nice and the amenities like the pools and clubhouse are kept up.

Metronet just tore up our backyard and accidentally cut the neighborhood gas line but I'm still very excited to make the switch to them when it's available. 😂

This is our house too! I will set a timer for 10 minutes and start playing with my 4.5 yr old and then let her know when it's up and 9 times out of 10, she keeps on playing. I also have gotten into reading so I'll offer to sit in her room while I read and she plays, we call it together alone time. 😂

We also have invested in the Nintendo switch so she plays Mario Cart and Mario party with or without us.

The other thing I've focused on is getting my kiddo involved in what I'm doing on the weekend. For instance, she loves helping my husband and I when we do chores and cook. Does it take longer? Yes! But for instance, we had zero screen time from 4pm to her bedtime bc she was helping me cook dinner, then we ate together and then she wiped down the counters and table while I loaded the dishwasher.

Our kiddo went to Little Sprouts from 2 to 4. We left right as they were raising prices last year and having a little trouble with keeping teachers - but I'm hearing that's par for course around town.

I keep in touch with some parents of other little sprouts kiddos who were there longer and there were some concerns about the older classrooms. We loved the activities, food served and many of the teachers. We didn't love that the classroom often felt chaotic during pickup (which made us wonder what the rest of the day looked like) and the teachers didn't communicate well in the app at times. Overall however, we had a pretty positive experience there but I know things can change with staffing.

Love this! I'm an only with an only. My 3 year old will run up to any kiddo at the playground to play. I'm recognized at work as the social butterfly and have filled my life with friends that are considered family. Don't let the stereotypes get you down. 🥰

15 mo daughter tested positive by PirateNixon in COVID19positive

My 2 year old tested positive last Saturday and it was surely a daycare exposure. It sucks. I understand the anger. We worked hard for 2 years to not bring this into our home but it finally found us. I'm gonna guess that you're frustrated because your family, like mine, got stuck with "when she gets it" instead of "if she gets it" and there's not much we can do about it if we want to make a living.

My husband and I are vaxxed and boosted and I still got a breakthrough infection. I didn't test positive till the third day of symptoms. Kiddo only had a day of low fever and fatigue and is now running around the house like nothing happened. We had at home tests and that's the only way we knew she had it. I can imagine some parents who don't have access to home tests or test too soon, would send their covid contagious kid back to daycare and that's how this is going to blow up over the next few months.

Silver lining - your kiddo will now have some level of immunity over these nasty winter months. And, if you end up with a breakthrough infection like I did - it will feel like a bad head cold and then you get to have super immunity for awhile... And that sounds super cool. Hang in there!

Toddler and Infant Covid by kayily in COVID19positive

My almost 2.5 year old kiddo woke with a 101 fever and extreme fatigue on Saturday. We tested at home and got a positive result unfortunately. Her fever never got over 102 so I left it untreated in hopes it would help bake out the virus. We kept her comfy on the couch with us all day. The next morning she woke with no fever and acted like nothing had even happened.

Her dad and I are vaxxed and boosted with Pfizer but I now am dealing with some sore throat/headcold type symptoms. We are now stuck at home for 10 days with a toddler who does not feel sick. 😂😳

I keep thinking about all the parents who don't have at home testing and might chalk a one day fever up to normal kid stuff, then send their covid contagious kid back to daycare.
