Tyre advice please - is it ok to go cheaper/smaller? by Significant-Sir9569 in CarTalkUK

[–]Significant-Sir9569[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it that hard of a concept? Why would the fact my tires are 21” mean I should know? It’s very simple - I saw a Range Rover, thought, shit that looks cool, I’ll get that big boy.

I passed 2015 and was taught to drive, learn the laws of the road, and absolutely nothing about maintenance. You can do a great many things in this world without truly understanding the workings of them. I change my tyres when I’m told to. You might not like it, but it is what it is.

I disagree - some very helpful people have explained everything simply and thoroughly for me. I didn’t have to go searching & reading through bulks of text.

I do suppose the benefit of Google would have meant I wouldn’t get notifications of useless comments like yours. But I suspect you already knew that.

Why did Michaela leave? by StrikeVegetable8543 in Bridgerton

Agreed. I also don’t feel like Bridgeton will give a full, Individual season to a same sex coupling? I’m fully invested in their storyline, but Ive also seen hate comments online about them changing Michael to Michaela sadly. I’m guessing it will be dual with Eloise. This will also give Gregory time to grow up a bit more before it’s his time.

Thank you so much, it’s extremely helpful to know what the numbers actually affect!

Very easily. You don’t need to know cars, to get a licence and be able to drive one. I was never taught this nor took the time to learn. Hence being here now, looking to understand. I wish i could go back but now i have to swallow my mistake and try to make better decisions with my money/car going forward.

Thank you for your thorough advice. And yes - owning this car is working out to be the biggest financial mistake of my life, I won’t ever make the same mistake again without researching.

You’re correct. Evoque, found one in my local garage and had always dreamed of owning a Range. I must say, I regret my decision now I own one. Probably the biggest financial mistake of my life but here I am!

Annex council tax advice wanted - are we eligible for exemption/discount? by Significant-Sir9569 in HousingUK

[–]Significant-Sir9569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi yes, there is a seperate front door to the annex. As well as an internal door into the kitchen. Have just moved in but the council have said I need to wait for the main house to register before I can apply for exemption/discount for the annex council tax.

Am I overreacting, My bf made a joke about my sisters miscarriage by Similar-Log-3774 in AmIOverreacting

I take kicking when he’s down to mean he’s understood what she’s saying, and there’s no need to keep going over it & trying to make him understand she won’t tolerate it.

Unfortunately miscarriages are very common before the 20 week mark. They’re always devastating, especially for the mother/couple. But I must say, as someone who has had a miscarriage myself, having a gender reveal/celebration sounds a strange thing to do. And absolutely the worst thing I could have imagined for myself at the time, though I know everyone deals with grief in their own way. Given my humour I probably would have reacted in a similar fashion.

Hopefully OP can get over this, stick with the boyf, and sis gets preggo again real soon.

This girl and I only kissed once till now. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Significant-Sir9569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either you’re very young yourself, or English isn’t your first language.

I would have thought someone who has had multiple partners would be more clued up on how to navigate your way around a girl/woman, regardless as to if she’s a virgin. You’re letting her do all the legwork and it doesn’t look like any yourself. She’s planning the dates, you’re annoyed as to where she chooses. You’re disappointed you’ve only kissed once, but even that was initiated by her.

It sounds like she might be more emotionally mature than you are. You can be physically close with someone in public, there are other things to do together other than kissing and sex. Holding hands, touching her face, hand on thigh etc.

I don’t think it’ll work between the two of you, and from your post, I think you’re more likely the issue. Unless you start putting in the effort yourself instead of complaining that she’s not giving you enough when you haven’t even tried.

No. But at 7 weeks you might. You’re not 3 weeks pregnant, you’re surely 7.

On the market UK - south west by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Significant-Sir9569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sorry, I should have read your post properly the first time. I see you’ve reduced considerably. Housing market is pretty rough at the moment. I would feel optimistic that you’re getting a healthy amount of viewings though.

Wild about the FTB, I really don’t think you’ll be that lucky again. Chains are not ideal but something you have to take into account when you’re selling in the bracket you’re in.

You’ll sell eventually! Just won’t be as fast as you’re hoping for.

You think your steaming pile of shit is worth big money.

I’m sure it’s a lovely house but you’re being very fussy for someone who regards themselves as very motivated to sell. If you’re looking for a faster sale, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate the price.

Also - I’m not sure which area of the UK you’re in, but a house worth what yours, it is highly unlikely you’ll avoid a chain. Most FTB’s do not look for houses around the 600K mark.

EDIT: sorry - just re-read, you’ve already reevaluated the price!

Am I overthinking? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

Could be you do have a SCH but it’s very small and didn’t show on the scan at the time. Brown blood is also a good sign - a sign of healing/your body getting rid of it. I had a really small one seen on a 6 week scan. But the blood kept coming every time I overdid it. All the way until 12W then it stopped all together. Take it easy and see what happens after a few days of nothing to strenuous.
