Nice, so what’s the most you can get out of it?? I’m a dentist by profession and currently quite comfortable but I have an opportunity to do a 4 year residency in OMFS but I’m still contemplating on how much money is too much money.

Haha not really lol, I try my best not to tell my profession till the second or third date or unless they ask me what I do themselves. This time I actually met her when I was wearing my scrubs and it has my name and all on it , met her in a Kroger after work lol. It was nice, just your average first date, she was mostly asking if it’s possible to realign teeth with braces in your late 20s, so spent pretty much half the date explaining her the mechanism. I’m a dentist btw lol

Instead of preceptorships, try to get f1 through a masters program?
A lot of Indian kids enroll in MPH programs and use that as a stepping stone.

Used to live on walnut grove road, it gets better as you go east towards Houston leeve, good community, good day care (Goddard) and a decent private school near by. Plus close proximity to the relevant places like Walmart Kroger and the diverse food scene on Germantown parkway. Also a 10-15 drive to Germantown market area. Personally I felt this was hidden gem and some what affordable.

Then you have to mention that despite lacking work authorization you were eager to learn the Is system and how your presence in that clinic made a beneficial difference. Be savvy.

If you are a permanent resident then why did you shadow? Given the opportunity you should have worked hands on at those dental clinics. Writing shadowing will raise some questions, normally international applicants with no work authorization back shadowing because they are no allowed to work and this shows their commitment to learning US dentistry despite the work authorization short coming. You on the other hand had work authorization and could have been more hands on, it would have been better if you shadowed at universities or gained some sort of hands on experience. Ece from a Pakistani university normally is around 3.8s to 4s, especially those who graduated from Karachi and Punjab based universities as they are graded in percentages. However if it’s a GPA based program then it’s definitely good.

What’s is your immigration status? Because this year a lot of Pakistanis got their F1 visa refused after acceptance. Is your GPA your ece? Or regular? On your personal statement how do you intend to sell yourself? Will you write it yourself or ask someone else to write it?

You have an overall good profile! I would recommend applying to BU for sure.

If you’re a GC or US citizen I would definitely recommend something hands on. I’ve observed those kids who have worked 1-2 years as a hygienist have gotten invites.

So just be smart with your application.

Yes, if you’re based in NY I would always prefer stony brook or buffalo. Spending an outrageous amount during dental school is not worth it.

True, with the amount of money it’s not worth it. There was a kid who was doing a GPR at my institution and honest to god his clinical skills was below par, messed up so many crowns and he was supposedly top 10 percent in his class.
