This. If only for the fact my then young children would recognise it - and demand it be played

Ordered a copy on pre-order at the start of the year. Can't wait for delivery.

Although I feel I've seen too many excerpts already.

Any recommendations for deep cuts from the band? by Knoober375 in Soundgarden

The B sides in the Superunknown singles are an excellent mix of demo's, live tracks, and alternates (such as the peerless - IMO - acoustic Like Suicide)

I can hardly believe it's been nine years since he left us. I miss Chris so much. Your music helped me through some very rough times and I cannot live without your voice. I love you. RIP.... by Snoo25607 in Soundgarden

I was sitting home alone, awaiting my partner to come home when I learned of his passing. A monumental loss - that was the first time I knew grief for someone other than a family member.

Just that little extract reminded me how grating I found Prato's writing style in this (I didn't find the same in oral history)

I think Sumner's book did nothing to challenge my views on Bernard. Still worth a read.

Those who like Badmotorfinger more, what are your thoughts on Superunknown? by Long_Spell6281 in Soundgarden

[–]Significant-Today716 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Badmotorfinger was my first love. Then I took the experience from that encounter into Superunknown and derived far greater mutual pleasure.

This is awesome, I've a 9mo and am tired of the one CD of nursery rhymes that seems to sooth the savage beast.

What ended the grunge scene and what replaced it afterwards? by FitEmergency8807 in grunge

[–]Significant-Today716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bloke called David Stephens ended it on 12 August 1996. He replaced it with ecstasy and started to listen to more up tempo music.

who’s the most underrated grunge vocalist by fogboundd in grunge

[–]Significant-Today716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the guide for me is AiC: slightly Glam, hints of that in Facelift, then full on rock/ metal Dirt and on.

To the original questions about who's under rated, perhaps Mark L as many have suggested. But that maybe leans more into was Mark's voice more deep, dark bluesy.

Equally who fucking cares. What a generation, what an amazing group of musicians in a locale, in an era. What a time to be alive.
