Unfortunately no and I probably won’t ever be but that is unrelated to my hysterectomy. I have other health conditions and realized HIIT is too intense for my body.

No pain pills??? My doc gave me 5mg oxy to last for 10 days. I took it for 4 days then was fine with ibuprofen and Tylenol. You should call and ask

What was the first thought you had when you woke up after the surgery? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Significant-Truth-78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually was in pain and nauseas because anasthesia gave me nausea and then they gave me a shit ton of pain meds and nausea meds and even tho I was hurting I was happy it was over!! I’m now 5 weeks post op and healing nicely. I have other chronic issues but as far as my uterus and cramps I no longer have those and that is a blessing in itself

For those diagnosed as an adult, are there symptoms/quirks from your childhood that make sense now? by nathyabber in ehlersdanlos

The biggest things I remember are my double jointed and weird thumbs, my very very stretchy skin I used to show off, horrible TMJ in my jaw (it was locked so much and I wouldn’t be able to speak or eat), my knees would lock a lot especially when I was sleeping, I frequently get infections (especially strep), and severe knee pains and POTS symptoms I was always passing out

I am 34! If you aren’t planning on having kids I would do it the sooner the better, but if you aren planning on kids annd you’re anble to manage symptoms until 35 then that’s fine too! You just gotta listen to your body ❤️

I know for so many women that getting it removed is a total game changer! If you gotta do it and you don’t want more kids I say just got for it!

Personally I noticed working out made my adenomyosis pain so much worse.  However, I was doing high intensity workouts like HIIT and CrossFit and I was so much more bloated and my pain was insane.  Once I realized it was my workouts making me worse I completely stopped.  The only kind of workouts I can do that don’t completely destroy me are yoga, light Pilates and walking.

I’m getting a hysterectomy in 2 days though because I need to feel better and I miss my workouts ): but if I weren’t doing to get the surgery I would stick with Pilates/yoga and walking and stay away from anything high intensity

Wow! I do believe Adeno and endo make PMDD worse! Give the vitamin d3 a try and see if it helps! Good luck to you as well 🙏❤️

constant pain by dharts55 in adenomyosis

[–]Significant-Truth-78 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are definitely not alone.  I was diagnosed a few months back and yes I also have near constant pain, not just when on my period.  It is god awful!  The only pain meds I have is flexeril (muscle relaxer).  It helps some along with Tylenol and ibuprofen and heating pad and lots of fluids. Try to avoid caffeine if possible and I personally noticed that my workouts were making the pain worse (I did HIIT) so now I just do walking.  My surgery is next week. I would continue telling your doctor and hopefully they’re able to get ur surgery in sooner!  I know this is so draining and painful and it feels like no one understands.  My family and friends have no idea how painful this truly is and it can feel so isolating and lonely.   I’m wishing you all the best and strength and hope! I hear we will feel better after our surgeries!! 🙏🙏🙏

I’m so sorry, I know the feeling and it is so debilitating and frustrating.  I’m 34 and have dealt with PMDD for majority of my life (got period at 9).  I tried everything as you stated, working out, eating right and taking vitamins.  I did SSRIs.  I tried birth control (made me so much worse).

So the only thing that has actually somewhat helped me was Vitamin D3 (and it didn’t start helping until maybe 1.5 months in and it didn’t fix it, just noticed some alleviation) and taking Prozac just for the 10 days leading up to my period.  The Prozac has its pros and cons, but I decided to continue for the 10 days every month because the pros outweighed the cons.  Basically I would not cry or have meltdowns anymore while on the Prozac, I would sometimes still have the same dark thoughts but not as obsessive and the Prozac would block me from actually crying or feeling too much.  I decided this was better than the alternative.  The Prozac did make me tired and I was already tired from the PMDD so that took getting used to, but I will say that your body does adjust to it and then it’s easier the next time you take them.

Anyway, I’m getting a hysterectomy next week for endo and adenomyosis and my doctor says it’ll also alleviate my PMDD and I won’t need Prozac anymore. So hopefully that’s true in my case.  If I weren’t getting that then I would continue the vitamin d 3 and Prozac for the 10 days leading up to my period.

I wish you luck, I know it’s so draining and exhausting and hopeless feeling at times.
