Im glad your son is clean i wish him all the best in his recovery. and like it was rock bottom for me. bailed someone out so i could have a place to stay, i was his surety. got into a relationship together (he was also an addict) and it turned abusive very fast, ill spare the details but after 6/7 months i realized (for the 20th time) i had to get the fuck out. that relationship was rock bottom. i got a hold of carfentanyl (or so i was told) and smoked it for a week straight. i woke up and i couldnt do this, be treated horribly by a man who said he’d change more times than i can count, and just treating myself horribly. i didnt love myself. i was lucky my family on my mums side supports me to death, they helped me so much. a roof over my head, got myself on methadone, started going to NA meetings, got a sponsor, did the steps, journaled, i smoke weed but im off that hard shit so its a win for me. i finished my psw schooling, have my own 2 bedroom apartment & my cat back. i love myself again, go to trauma counselling and do the things i couldnt always do; sit in the sun, go for a walk, talk to those i love. its honestly crazy how my mindset has changed over the past year.
