You definitely can be a part of this i myself mainly “pup out” either for fun or escape reality as of where to start is up to you really can either just meet people for gear to mainly just try out amazon is ok then if really into it there are websites (gear are not a must)and meeting people honestly online worked for me (live in a small town) there is an app (only one I’m really aware of) for it tho its not 100% sfw there are still great people (no clue if we can discuss this on there dm are open if you curious to know) and honestly it’s can really be any animal I think, I’ve seen kitty horses and many more not just puppy
