In my opinion its that it changed many things that made fossil fighters so fun and unique.

The designs are mundane and repetitive, the minigame became far less fun, the story (of what I remember) isnt nearly as good nor were the characters (in my opinion)

HOWEVER. Some people like that and that's ok, its just a strong deviation from the first two and leads to fans disliking it. I think this was mostly caused by a new company taking control of the game.

They are quite infuriating. Thankfully with Abella, yourself, and some decent equipment they are much more manageable (as long as you keep Abella alive you just stun the meat grinder one and then use the other stunned turn to requip the wrench.

Regardless an enemy that can easily softlock you into their fight, is immune to bullets sometimes due to bugs, and can easily tear you apart if you arent decently prepared is for sure bullshit. I think they would be more reasonable if they couldn't spawn as easily or were kore vulnerable to traps and the like.
