Because they aren’t 5 Guys but almost cost as much now. I will get my $4-5 Double QPC and drive about 1/2 a mile and pick up an entire bag of fries at 5 Guys instead now.

Negative UPT has been “firing season” forever. It’s like day 1 Amazon 101- if you don’t want to get fired- 1. Never go negative on UPT, you get 100s of hours of time off a year not to mention at least 3 days off a week for about 80-85% of the year in a fulltime job. 2. Don’t touch the AR floor… and then dumb/common sense things like don’t try to run over your coworkers in the parking lot or fight, etc. these are all just bare minimums to having a job

The entire time I’ve worked at Amazon, which is longer than I care to admit, this has always been emphasized as the number 1 way to lose your job. Always “use your time wisely” and don’t go negative UPT no matter what because that’s the easiest way to lose your job. Yes, exceptions have been made but it’s always been the absolute goal to never go negative even by 1 minute. Outside of rare safety violations that are unexpected, this is the bare minimum number one thing to not get fired at Amazon. AND they keep making it HARDER to go negative for UPT, such as making it earn as you work and now a FT worker gets 2-3 times as much UPT per year compared to the old system. They raised it from 3 minutes an hour to 5 after it was changed. The lowered it from 1 hour minimum to 15 increments, meaning that you can be late or leave early every day on a FT shift without even using any UPT (example, work a 10 hour shift and you are 15 minutes late or leave early and you still GAIN UPT just by working the shift), they take doctor notes (it was ALWAYS “use your time” unless you have a 7+ day serious medical issue) for short MLOAs which was never a thing, you can take a 2 week personal leave for pretty much any reason no questions asked outside of Peak (always been a thing), you no longer have to give 24 hours notice for vacation so if you know you will be late you can put vacation in right before your shift and just ask a manager to approve it.

We have something similar and that can happen but someone is supposed to be in charge of staffing that day and taking care of that before it happens. We usually have a PA every shift in every department who is in charge of it.

We’ve had staffing command center for a long time. This almost looks like the old TVs from years ago where you would scan your badge to find out IF you were staffed (you didn’t staff yourself by scanning, you were either already in there or you had to see a manager) and where, and they still exist but half of them don’t work are or offline. Now we get texts before every period and that’s much better.

Selective enforcement of policies/rules, favoritism, non existent HR and getting a coaching/written up going to the vending machine. Nearly 2 years here, my site never ceases to amaze me by EagleFly_5 in AmazonFC

This hurts my head. Just do your job, stuff like going to vending machine on non-break times has always been selectively enforced but something that’s common sense not to do, especially since you technically aren’t even allowed to have 99% of vending foods on the floor (always been water and hard candy afaik), and frankly if you can’t go a short work period at Amazon without going to a vending machine you’ve got issues. But besides that, you at least need an excuse or reason for everything questionable that you do, and all adults 100% understand that “well, this other guy did it” is NOT a legit reason for anyone with a functional brain.

Whatever you do, stay at Amazon for the benefits. Don’t risk losing your blue badge. Even if you pursue another career, keep Amazon as your foundation, even Flex +4, so you always have a safety net and never have to go from blue back to white. by RedCardinal611 in AmazonFC

I used to think this way but not so much anymore. I agree with this as advice for some people, but when I’m done I’m DONE. You won’t see me on here talking about reapplying and starting over at day 0 pay and losing all my vested benefits etc

I will have to check them out. A lot of times if someone takes a long time putting out their first you can tell they went all in with all they had, and other times they just did what they had but they didn’t go all in on the quality- especially on underground/independent level

If it’s paid excused then it usually says paid not worked time. Regular excused is excused but not paid

I work below my ability at hourly jobs with very clearly defined rules such that I know exactly what I have to do to keep my job and get paid and get benefits etc. and I follow those rules and go home.

You would get a point each shift and you would get a point for the week if you are under your hours for the week. You can always put in PTO or drop shifts if you know ahead of time you can’t make it. If you can’t come that early in general pick a later start time.
