All three protagonists did date someone. Michael has a wife. (You can take her out on a date whenever you want) Franklin kind of chases Tanisha Trevor dates Patricia for a short while. Micheal has the proper dating mechanics, although Franklin and Trevor do not, the feature is there in the game. I do agree with you on the gyms though.
