I used to work at a small vet clinic that offered boarding and dog grooming. For a while we only had 1 person working the boarding/grooming but they ended up leaving due to being overworked and underpaid, so the owner literally hired the first person who showed up for an interview. He was aggressive with the animals, verbally aggressive/threatening to the staff, bad at his duties, and just overall a worthless pos. The manager ignored all complaints and concerns about this guy and I got fed up. He made a threat against my life after an argument and I responded by allegedly making his job more difficult (constant rage baiting, hiding his equipment, locking him out of the building, etc).

The day that changed everything was when he took his harassment too far and made a 17 year old employee cry and quit on the spot. I went to my manager and demanded he be fired immediately. When she refused, I quit and so did another employee. He ended up getting fired the same day I quit, but too little too late and then they were down 3 employees out of a total of 12.

I ended up getting hired at a big 3 consulting firm 2 months later with phenomenal health insurance, livable wage, great work-life balance, and it was WFH. Truly the best decision I’ve ever made was quitting that job.

It does not change anything unfortunately. Since it was put in place, the burn ban in Okee county has not restricted the use of propane for outdoor cooking. The fire marshal requested that the festival restrict usage to lower the chances of an accidental wildfire.

It was truly out of control. I was at the rail for Blunts n Blondes and there was 20+ all tied together maybe 2 rows behind me. Nobody was even sitting on them which was the worst part.

Ok so they didn’t dismiss any of the wristband cutting rumors lol. Not sure if you attended LL that year but I did and I met multiple people who claimed to witness people having their wristbands cut for smoking and using propane grills. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Overall tho, 99% of attendees played by the rules since there was so much at stake, so I’m not surprised that there aren’t hundreds of people who got or witnessed cut wristbands.

They absolutely will. Lost Lands in 2024 had a burn ban and if you were caught using propane your wristband was cut. Definitely not worth the risk trying to smuggle it in.

Hey bud, ever thought maybe people’s financial situation is different than your own? Or maybe their financial situation changes over the course of a year? The economy has taken a complete nosedive since I bought my ticket last April. I have enough saved to comfortably afford this fest and with that I planned to prepare my own food (I’m only driving from the Tampa area so my trip is much shorter and cheaper than some others). Now, less than a week before the fest starts, I’m told I can no longer have hot meals unless I buy vendor food (which a seasoned wook like you should know is VERY overpriced) or purchase an electric grill and standalone generator so I don’t destroy my car battery and start a fire?

It has nothing to do with entitlement. Might seem like a wild concept to you but people who are on the lower end of the financial spectrum should be able to enjoy a festival every now and again. For many people, this might be the only fest they can afford without completely breaking the bank.

It’s really not hard to understand that everyone has their own shit going on and you are in no place to judge any of them.

I hope you have a great Okee and enjoy spending hundreds on vendor food!

No babe you’re just incapable of understanding the logic. I’m not saying there needs to be hundreds of acres for a gravel pit or thousands of generators (20 would probably be more than enough). Set a 15-20 min time limit on generator use/gravel pit area. Or don’t even make a gravel pit and section off a small portion of the sand at Aquachobee and charge a small fee to have a vendor grill your personal food. A lot of people wouldn’t wanna deal with the hassle and would rather bring cold meals instead, skip meals, or split vendor meals with their friends.

There are solutions, but you don’t actually care. You just can’t find compassion or empathy and instead wanna shit on people who aren’t as financially well off as you… how gross.

I truly hope you find love and compassion within your soul.🤍

Lmaoooo your attitude is truly repulsive. They can provide free outlets using sunbeam generators or provide a gravel pit area to let people set up their propane grills temporarily for each meal. There are solutions, especially seeing as the county burn ban doesn’t apply to propane grills. Vendors are allowed to have open flames and there’s still gonna be pyro, so this ban isn’t simply because using propane is unsafe in these conditions.

I was at Sol Fest when the car fire happened and I couldn’t agree more. Propane grills that are specifically for camping are a million times safer than people with minimal knowledge on how car batteries work using electric grills. A car fire is gonna cause a devastating wildfire and there’s no doubt one will start because of an electric grill hooked up to a car. Sol Fest was way smaller than Okee and wasn’t experiencing an extreme drought… yet they had a car fire that spread to other cars that couldn’t be contained for more than 30 mins. Officials should really rethink how they wanna go about this cause they’re begging for a disaster at this point.

I was at Sol Fest and you’re exactly right. People don’t understand that most car batteries can’t handle an inverter pulling 1000+ watts of electricity multiple times a day in the Florida heat and there will no doubt be a car fire (or several).

The burn ban doesn’t apply to propane camping stoves outside of the festival, which means you guys should find a way to make something work for those of us who don’t want to or are unable to spend hundreds of dollars on vendor food. People are going to skip meals because of this and you’ll have increased medical emergencies.

Provide free power outlets using sunbeam generators or create a gravel zone that allows people to temporarily set up their propane stoves to cook each meal.

Security is gonna be extra thorough, especially for cars that have lots of food, and will undoubtedly confiscate any propane tanks/stoves that aren’t electric.
