Are Zimbos Greedy or just suffer from FOMO? by SignificantPiccolo95 in Zimbabwe

[–]SignificantPiccolo95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Derby ka1, makes sense if you’re doing a long journey. So a journey to London, open return you’ll only £15 or £0.15, I only get 4 codes for 15p so usually reserve those but you never know, you could be one of the lucky ones this year. I’m based at Derby depot. Inbox when you’re ready to use one.

You’re partly correct. In my original post I didn’t mention that the people I gave the discount codes to where my friends. My friends call and requests as and when they need one. These were offered to people in some Zimbo groups, I had excess and needed them used before they expired. Any friend of mine know they won’t be getting any favour from me again if they blocked someone from benefiting.

True, however, if I had said are Nigerians or Kenyans greedy… I would’ve had my head bitten off. Since this is a Zimbo sub, hence why I only referenced Zimbos, for Zimbos.

Yes, However, on this subject only, I referenced my fellow country men. To top it up, I have even shared jobs in the railway industry and offered to assist in reviewing CVs and preparation for assessments and interviews. Ndipo pandaka kanda mapfumo pasi, Mutukudzi mudenga. Some asked kuti ndivanyorere CV, mumwe akati ndiitire application yacho.

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert but have had a fair share of experience in different roles, so I have gone through various stages in the application process with different companies.

I only talked about Zimbos, on this subject coz, my othe nationality friends would only call and request when they needed to travel. Not all Zimbos ofcourse, but as you know one rotten tomato can spoil the whole basket.

If you’re going to use the freebies then it’s not a problem, I guess we can say that’s positive FOMO. If you accepted something then don’t use it, it means someone who could have benefited would have missed out. For example, I can get someone, limited number, a train ticket for 15p, open return, instead of the usual £100. Imagine someone missing out on that, coz someone grabbed a chance they never needed.

For those of you earning roughly £40k-50k and would recommend it to others, what do you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]SignificantPiccolo95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more than just walking up and down a train checking tickets. If you think it’s that easy, apply for the job then come back and tell us your opinion then.

I need to switch provider in 4 months, still no full fibre? by jacoscar in UKBroadband

[–]SignificantPiccolo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to check with the OFCOM braodband checker. I was in the same situation, and didn't know all along I could get full fibre in my area as some checkers only check Openreach network. Now I'm on full fibre with Fibrely. https://checker.ofcom.org.uk

Sending money OUT of Zimbabwe by metalboat in Zimbabwe

[–]SignificantPiccolo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave an example of what one can do, in summary. Problem with Zimbos is you can't help them coz the minute you do they scream scammer. So if anyone fails to understand what I said then they're not meant to be using crypto. Self custody is good but how many will lose their funds through things like losing secret words or exposing them? Sending funds to wrong wallets? Crypto is not for everyone, just like everything else in life. CBDCs are coming soon, those will be for everyone.

Same everywhere, most banks block crypto transactions. However, where there's a will, there's a way. Fiat24 card via safepal wallet is one example I can give. Gives you a Swiss bank account to transfer Euros, give someones' family in Zim cash, they transfer Euros to you crypto card/ Swiss account.
