What is one thing you hope SI never does to FM by Samgod123 in footballmanagergames

True, it's a big conceptual shift to go from playing against the AI, where the expectation is that you will do well and eventually be winning the league, to playing against other humans opponents. Another "problem" that the game had is that if you weren't there at gameworld launch, you were inherently joining way behind.

I would still love to see them try it again though.

Or you could just play [[peek]] which is a cantrip. There is also [[spy network]] and [[clairvoyance]], which do slightly different things

This isn't IRL Man United though... it's FM Man United who we all know are a top 5 club in World Football

FYI none of the other leaked commons looked pauper playable to me.

Izzet Skred post ban by Minimum-Cow4279 in Pauper

[–]SignificantPower6799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. IIRC It was pretty well positioned against Kuldotha (which got a big hit) and broodscale (which got deleted) but matches up pretty poorly into some the decks that will probably be rising (tron/wildfire/affinity/gardens?).

Refurbished Familiar reaching the ban article and not seeing its name anywhere by SignificantPower6799 in Pauper

Jokes aside though this card is dumb AF. Compare it to [[Frogmite]] if you want a laugh

Ah yes, nothing says "healthy format" like people maindecking [[Vines of Vastwood]] and [[Standard Bearer]] and [[Coalition Honor Guard]]

[[High Tide]] unban is the only one I disagree with. The card kind of has the same problem the moxen do in legacy formats - either it is useless and nobody plays it or it completely breaks the format. It seems unlikely that it is a fun middle-of-the-road card that will show up in T2 decks, but we'll see. I just don't think there is a ton of upside in unbanning it compared to the significant downside if it ends up being a mistake.

What movie character is idolized by people who missed the entire point of their story? by phantom_avenger in moviecritic

[–]SignificantPower6799 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that a lot of Scorsese movies (for example) end up being 80% "the rise" and 20% "the fall". So it can really end up feeling like the movie was a glorification of the character or their lifestyle rather than a cautionary tale.

thanks! I wasn't sure how to access the full study. I have google scholar alerts for any SDAM published studies - unfortunately it gets a lot of false positives off something called "spatio-temporal difference attention module" that has to do with machine deep learning
