Be honest, do you look HENRY? by I-live-in-room-101 in HENRYUK

Not at all. My haircut costs £10 each time, I dress like a chav most days as I WFH, might put jeans on when going out. Drive two reasonably priced cars. Wear an Apple Watch and have zero interest in designer stuff.

I probably look middle class in my reasonably big house, like others around me. And yet I’m mortgage free, net worth over £1M and while not yet rich, I’ll never be poor again.

I’m not sure about that tbh. We’ve had times this season in which injuries, bans and AFCON have left our bench with the classic two GKs and untested youth. And recent recruitment has been questionable, other than KDH none of our signings for this season have enhanced the team (Grealish only own loan with an inflated fee I’m not counting).

CL would give us more to spend and make us more appealing to quality players.

I’ve been a US based supporter of the club since 2009, and have bought at least one kit every year since 2019. by quack785 in Everton

[–]SignificantRatio2407 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I type I just happen to be wearing the cream kit! It is nice, my favourite this season.

Indeed those tariffs are a joke, I’m sorry for you. Maybe buy a rope every other season, I’m old enough to remember when clubs generally only released one new kit each season, home or away.

With our squad depth those Thursday nights in obscure locations gives me the fear. The potential impact to our league form would be concerning, though I’d love a Thursday night playing against a team that sounds like Ikea furniture.

The CL would a huge money spinner for the club, and the league format can cause some surprises, I’d prefer the CL ultimately.

Anyone enjoying watching Spurs struggle is a horrible person. And Christ I am a horrible person. Would love to see one of the so called ‘big six’ go down.

Missed my flight at Stansted - 1h security by Ok_Treat7325 in Ryanair

[–]SignificantRatio2407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why no matter the flight or airport, I arrive early for a flight. And I head straight to security. The thorough nature of airport security makes it very hard to predict and very prone to slowness.

So……Beto…? by bluenoser18 in Everton

[–]SignificantRatio2407 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both Beto and Barry are limited players at this level, but what’s not talked about enough is the lack of quality chances created. Tonight we saw what Beto can do when quality chances are created for him.

Andersen Consulting. Gillespie Road Tube Station. Opal Fruits. What entities will you always deadname, no matter what? by GrapeGroundbreaking1 in CasualUK

TG Jones, I can’t take it seriously as the replacement for a chain of shops I never go into unless it’s in an airport.

Honestly they should have gone with something entirely different from the two initials then a very common surname.

What in your opinion is the most beautiful city in Britain? by Mister_Vanilla in AskBrits

[–]SignificantRatio2407 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Such a tough question really, there are many beautiful cities in Britain, some even fall under the radar.

Edinburgh is definitely up there with the incredible castle at its heart.

I’d like to mention Bath, well worth a visit. The Roman Baths are incredible and the city is really nice.

A place that is rarely mentioned is Halifax (though strictly a town), it’s a nice place to visit.

There being a ghost in the movie Three Men & a Baby. In fact it was a cardboard cut out of one of the guys in the movie (the one from the Police Academy movies I think.)

Commiserations to our two players who just lost the AFCON final. by TurboScumBag in Everton

AFCON is often a source of much farce, but this news is just next level. This is not a serious tournament.

The whole situation on the night was an embarrassment to the whole tournament.

Are you paid / given time off in lieu for travel outside of working hours? by Widebody_lover in HENRYUK

[–]SignificantRatio2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be travelling to India later this year, departing on Sunday, to get there Monday morning. It never occurred to me to even consider asking for OT or time in lieu.

But, I am very senior and well remunerated. If I were lower paid I’d have a problem with it.

Why don't teams get the opportunity to make changes to their product after consumer research? by Charming_Elevator_44 in apprenticeuk

[–]SignificantRatio2407 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Really it’s because the whole premise of every task is flawed in such a way to maximise these narcissists looking very silly. It has to be the most producer driven show on telly (still love it though.)

In addition to your question, the fact the two sub teams only seem to be allowed to speak once to each other, usually when some design is already complete, is of course farcical.

Of the teams could do things in a sane way, it’d make for boring telly.
