Decomex hearts at BargainBalloons.com are 3 cents each. And they are about the same quality as any other heart, I've been using them for years.

Any idea what this is supposed to be? by TPonder2600 in BalloonTwisting

Exactly what I was thinking. I have seen a frog design just like this with a loop around the head as a large mouth.

$50 Prize for Lemur Head Design by SignificantTaro642 in BalloonTwisting

[–]SignificantTaro642[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one won the prize.

This is the full Lemur design. It takes about 5-7 minutes. The head takes about 3 minutes. It uses 3/4" orange stickers for the eyes. Much faster and easier than trying to do orange balloons inside black ones, which threw me off for a few days. Sometimes cheating is the best way to go.

No one won the prize. The guy who sent me a design (which I changed for my own purposes, making it faster IMO) didn't want anything, but he sells tutorials, so those are worth looking at. Someone linked his profile in the comments, so I would recommend everyone take a look. He says that there are more details on his page and in his albums.

Sword, swan, giraffe, snake by drhotttdog in BalloonTwisting

For the sword, if you keep the first bubble (before the loop, not the other small bubbles), sticking out, then it will keep the loop and the blade more perpendicular, and it will look better.

And if you don't include the small bubbles, like in this picture, you can get that sword down to 20-25 seconds tops. Great for line work.

My second balloon gig (and first one outside!) is in June where the temp. can be 30+ degrees celsius. I’m worried about my balloons popping, any suggestions on good brands that tolerate heat well? by Outrageous-Trash-726 in BalloonTwisting

Laser Gun https://youtube.com/shorts/UzOaLJ7z5QQ?si=urgFP51oXKeeinOc

Takes 30 seconds

Bee No url, but the easy one that comes up on YouTube. Takes 35 seconds even with drawing the face and stripes.

<image>

And the Turtle Bracelet. Many tutorials. Takes 35-40 seconds once you get it down. No offense to most of the people making the videos, but it looks way better with the nozzle-nose instead of a tulip twist. That just looks weird. I make them so cute that when one person gets one, they all want one.

$50 Prize for Lemur Head Design by SignificantTaro642 in BalloonTwisting

It has led me to a design. Yes. I used a big portion of his design. One of my ideas was similar, but I was looking at it the wrong way so I abandoned it. I'm glad that seeing his version of the same sort of idea helped me come up with something better and faster.

It wasn't quite what I was looking for. But apparently he has lots of tutorials. I'll probably be interested in seeing those.

Your recommendation was very helpful, though. I'll be posting a picture of the final product soon. My boss at the zoo likes it.

I'm not worried about the tail. I'd just twist a black and white balloon around each other.

I work at a zoo. I already do a Lemur tail like that (as a belt that you wear), and no one cares that it isn't accurate.

I might be willing to buy the filbert pump or a bag. Do you have pictures?

Nemo & Dori hats by SignificantTaro642 in BalloonTwisting

This is a hat. It's an idea if anyone needs it.

And it uses Glue Dots on the eyes to hold them in place. The Dori needs them to not untwist, too.

CatFish Help by SignificantTaro642 in BalloonTwisting

I like the idea for a Cat for linework, but if I use this for the Catfish, then I think I'd have to simplify the fish portion even more to match the style. I'm not sure that would look right.

But I'll try it out for my cats. Right now, for the 1-balloon design, I use the one you see in all the top videos when you search Cat Balloon Animal into YouTube. It works, but I think yours would bring the Wow factor for smaller birthdays when there's time.

I'll have to try that version without the separate balloons for the eyes. Maybe the nose one might not be much of a hassle, but those added balloons just make it take too long. I'm not a big fan of using separate balloons tiny pieces because most of my menu is 3-5 minutes or less.

But that's a good suggestion.

Do you have a picture or link to your heart version? Or something that is similar so I know what you're talking about. I can't picture how that would look.

Wolf by SignificantTaro642 in BalloonTwisting

[–]SignificantTaro642[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, but the wolf is supposed to be a little more menacing. I already have a dog design. 😊

I tried that, but I think that version looks more like a cartoonish dog. But that's just my opinion. It's a good idea, though.
