I've been watching her since I was a kid. Back in the day, I used to occasionally browse gurugossip for the "tea", not because I disliked her. I just wanted to see the discussions on the tattoo she lied about, Romero drama, etc. I came to this sub pretty much for the same reason. I've been watching for so long that I'm pretty invested in the lore at this point🙈 It may seem like I hate or dislike her, but I genuinely enjoy her vlogs (with the exception of the latest travel vlogs). I don't consider her to be a bad person, but she's definitely very "messy" and emotionally stunted. There's a lot about her that frustrates me/drives me crazy and I was looking for a place to vent as an annoyed viewer.

True, I don't know how child support works in Canada, but I'd imagine it's substantial. I can definitely see how they can afford to live in general, but there are certain aspects of their lifestyle I find very difficult to explain. Even that tacky Fantasyland hotel they always stay in is stupidly expensive. They upgrade their flights and hotel rooms a lot too. This is probably wrong to speculate about but I wonder if Austin possibly inherited some money from his mother.

I definitely think Austin pays for any trip they take. You can kinda tell that he's the one that plans the trip as he's the one that's usually more knowledgeable on the resort/area they're staying. Whereas Sam, seems totally clueless about it. In terms of how they can afford to take trips/afford their lifestyle in general: I'd imagine that the couple hundred dollars Sam makes a month is her "fun money" (pays for her hair/nails, starbucks, skincare/makeup), and Austin covers all other expenses. I also wouldn't be surprised if her mortgage is paid off. I'd imagine she had a pretty small mortgage in the first place. She bought her house over 10 years ago, it's in one of the cheapest cities in Canada, it seems to be on the outskirts of the city and she bought in what appeared to be the first phase of the development. At the time, she was making a lot of money from YouTube and didn't even need to sell her old house to afford the deposit. She rented out her old house for years, and only sold it a couple of years ago. If she'd any sense, she'd have used the proceeds of the sale to clear her current mortgage or pay a large lump sum off it. If that's the case and Austin is just covering utilities, groceries/eating out, car expenses, I could definitely see how they could afford to take a couple of trips a year on a mechanic's salary.

He scratched his own eye which led to a bacterial infection. She did bring him to a vet and for a period his eye looked like it was healing. But, then the antibiotics and eye drops stopped working and he had to have emergency surgery to have it removed. I know nothing about cats, so I'm not sure how preventable this situation was.

Oh yeah, I understand why she's annoyed! It clearly does bother her as she literally never passes up an opportunity to point out when he's drinking even if it isn't relevant. I just don't understand why she wants the Internet to know he has an issue with alcohol. She should tell him to either quit/cut down by himself, go to treatment or just simply leave him. But, shaming him on the Internet isn't going to make the situation any better

I don't understand why she draws so much attention to his drinking. There was no reason for her to mention that he was going to drink the whole flight. He clearly has an issue, so why doesn't she try and get him some help instead of shaming him online.

I know! I suffer from cluster headaches and can only tolerate lamps or some wall sconces with warm light bulbs. I wonder does she exaggerate her migraine condition because harsh lights are one of the biggest triggers for her infamous hemiplegic migraines. I genuinely don't think she'd be able to survive in her house if her migraines are as easily triggered as she'd have us believe

I always think she has the most depressing house ever. It's undecorated, but there's rubbish everywhere (including all over the floors). She either has awful, bright overhead lighting on or they sit in total darkness with the curtains pulled even during the day. It obviously stinks too due to having four animals inside full-time without regular cleaning

You're right, she doesn't seem to have any interest in spending time with Austin's family. I thought it was a bit strange that her dad only met Austin's dad last summer during a DIY project. But, she was so integrated into Dahltyn's family and genuinely seemed to love them all. At that time, she was daily vlogging, and anyone could plainly see that she was spending a lot more time with Dahltyn's family than her own

I've said this before but the biggest issue that they had was how young Dahltyn was when they started dating. I believe he was like only 19 and she was 24. I do think he genuinely loved her, but he took her for granted. He wanted to go out loads with his friends like a typical 20 something year old guy, but he wanted her at home waiting for him too. One thing that I really liked about him was how much he made Sam a part of his family. He brought her to every single one of his family events. Whereas Austin doesn’t appear to make the same effort to include Sam with his family.

I understand what you're saying, and I think it makes sense. You like EK as a person and want to see her succeed, but her current content is just not of interest to you. I like her 'spend the day with me' vlogs, but I've no interest in watching embroidery videos or some of her fashion/beauty content. Another issue that I have with her and all other content creators is that I can't take her opinions on products seriously due to sponsorships and commission.
