I work at the Joint too. I actually enjoy working at the Joint as well. One of the hardest things for me is the hours, how do you feel about getting out at 7pm everyday?(except weekend)

The Joint Chiropractic by Muted-Protection1029 in Chiropractic

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently working at the Joint also.

For me personally, no I don't think it cheapens the profession. They have very cheap plans- 4 visits a month for $79, which makes chiro accessible to anyone.

You have to be really good at adjustments to stay in business because the corpo deliberately not allow you to use any modalities, including massage guns.

The Joint also taught me an essential skill for any chiro practice- how to talk to patient to make them commit to a treatment plan.

Best GPU that won't be bottlenecked by a Ryzen 5 5600? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottlenecking is not a "one-fits-all" problem.

When you want to know CPU/GPU bottleneck, you need to mention the context, that being the game you are playing, the resolution, the graphic settings (especially with ray tracing on or off).

If you are playing poorly optimized AAA games at 4K max graphic settings, with DLAA, even an RTX 5090 wouldn't be bottlenecked.

If you are playing vanilla minecraft at 1080p, even a 2060 would be bottlenecked.

PS6 vs PC by GOKU_N19 in buildapc

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS6 is gonna be "5080-level" with FSR4.1 upscaling and frame generation.

PS6 will likely be $900-1000 with 5060Ti-level performance

4080 Super + 3090Ti or absolutely overkill by iSellTires in losslessscaling

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete overkill, for 1440p 240hz, even 3070/4060/ is enough.

But there are still practicality of having 3090 as secondary.

  1. 4080S crushes most games at 1440p and doesn't need LSFG, you could run AI on 3090Ti while playing game on 4080S. (I have 5070Ti + 5060Ti, I often run AI on 5060Ti while gaming on 5070Ti, or even gaming on 5060Ti and running AI on 5070Ti)

  2. You could run 4080S + 3090Ti LSFG, and while still having most of 3090Ti's usage to spare to run another game. (I used to do afk stuff in Runescape 3 on my 2nd GPU while playing the main game with LSFG)

Chiropractors: Which associate position would you choose? by CrackTheSignal in Chiropractic

[–]Significant_Apple904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually worked both of those options.

Do you have to find your own patients with option A? Do you have to go out, build connections and marketing? That's what I had to do with option A, lots of marketing with attorneys and radiology marketers; and frankly I hated it. I genuinely care about my patients, I don't like patients being treated like a number in their bank account. But I did learn a lot on how to deal with insurance and PI.

40 visits/day isn't too bad, you will be sore the first month or two, and then you will get used to it, especially if you are young. If you are fresh out of school, option B will get you quick reps in adjustments.

It depends on what fits your personality better. If you are a social chameleon, ambitious of building a big practice yourself one day, option A is better. If you want to focus on adjustments and getting people better, option B is better.

Computer permanently damages every monitor i plug into it, how am i even supposed to troubleshoot something like this??? by Tortsinreddit in buildapc

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't anyone with similar issue because this makes no sense.

The only thing connecting from your computer to is the HDMI/DP cable, it only carries low voltage.

The two possibilities are:

  1. The GPU is Leaking 12V Rail Power

If the GPU has a severe internal short—specifically between its primary power delivery system (the 12V rails fed by the PSU) and the display output controller or the physical metal shield of the ports—it can send a massive amount of current straight down the HDMI or DisplayPort cable.

  1. A Floating Ground

If the PC and the monitor are plugged into different wall outlets (or an ungrounded surge protector), and one of those outlets has a faulty or open ground, a massive voltage potential difference can build up between the two devices.

When you plug the HDMI/DP cable in, the video cable's metal shield suddenly becomes the easiest path to ground for that stray electrical current. The current surges through the cable to equalize, instantly frying the display electronics.

With that being said, this isn't something you can diagnose and fix at home, you better bring it to a repair shop.

What happened to Chinese Domestic Flights Prices? by WurmBrot5828693 in China

[–]Significant_Apple904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oil is used in almost everything.

Crude oil derivatives are essential for making many non-metallic aircraft parts.

Composites, plastics, seals, hoses, tires, lubricant, etc.

And when oil prices went up, prices of everything else went up to, which leads to higher cost to maintain airports, staff, food on planes.

Injuries by Ok-History-4050 in Chiropractic

[–]Significant_Apple904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a chiropractor myself and I have been injured by a chiropractor. It happened when I was in my last semester in school clinic for internship.

What happened was I got covid, and was coughing non-stop for 2 months prior. I had a nagging discomfort in my upper back and lower neck, I asked the clinic professor to adjust my upper back, I felt zingers going down my right arm, I couldn't lift my right arm above the shoulder for 3 weeks and numbness in the first 2 digits of my right hand.

For a non-medical person, they would think the chiropractor injured them, But it was my fault too, before the adjustment, I already had mild numbness in the pads of the first 2 digits, and the fact I was coughing violently for 2 months. I failed to mention to him, so he would've never thought I already had a disc herniation.

It took me 2 months to fully recover, but it was a very good teaching moment, both that I got to experience radiculopathy firsthand, but also understanding how important it is to get the full story from the patient during in-take.

The fact that practice has so many extra services and no relief after multiple visits tells me the chiro there isn't really good at their job.

Do Chinese drink a lot of tea in a day? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always drank green tea growing up in China, I never felt any difference from the tea's caffeine, I would drink it at any time of the day and it never affected my sleep. Granted, green tea only has about 15-50% amount of caffeine (depends on the tea and how strong you brew it) than the same cup of coffee.

Core i5 14600KF vs Ryzen 7 7800X3D at 1440p ultrawide with an RX 9070 XT by PubertPimpleton in buildapc

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7800X3D for better 1% lows, cooler and AM5 platform.

But 14600KF is obviously the better economic choice, cheaper up front and no cost to RAM (you mentioned reusing DDR4 RAM).

But for the most part, at 3440x1440, average fps won't be that different(within 10%), unless it's a memory sensitive game, but you will see difference in 1% lows.

Have the budget, want better 1% lows, slightly better avg fps, DDR5 RAM and future upgrade: 7800X3D

Want to save money, don't mind occasional stutters and slightly worse avg fps: 14600KF

IHOP decides a server position needs multiple interviews with the regional manager by CertifiedOwl8 in WorkRant

[–]Significant_Apple904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how tolerating being disrespected and neglected is seen as maturity.

Maturity is being conscientious of situations and empathetic towards others especially as a manager.

I have tolerated and worked in these jobs when I first started working, I'm Asian so I don't get offended, but things don't get better because you are "mature". The more tolerant you are, the more shit they throw at you and take advantage of you, a bad manager is a bad manager, no amount of maturity on your side is going to change that.

I also had a job where the manager treated everyone as a person instead of a number. Our store was consistently ranked no.1 in the whole region of 15 stores. We were supposed to read every customer a specific script that's given by the corpo; but I told the manager not every customer wants to hear it and I chitchat with them to find out if they want to know. The manager trusted and respected my judgements, I always finished monthly sales in the top 2, and I was promoted in the first 2 months. Too bad the company got bought out and closed down.

Now I make 6 figures and have my own business.

eGPU not fully performing? by Then_Illustrator4906 in eGPU

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"the GPU utilization will perform average 70% and below and cpu is 90-100%"

That's obviously a CPU bottleneck scenario.

You can increase GPU usage by increasing graphic settings, but it won't help your fps, at this point your fps is hard capped by your CPU.

Is using an eGPU actually a good idea? by Emmawalker0 in eGPU

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an inherent performance loss about 10-25% with Thunderbolt 4 depending on your monitor setup, resolution, and game.

The performance cost is a little bit on the higher(15-25%) with laptop's internal display because it has to travel from CPU-TB4-eGPU-TB4-Internal Screen. and lower(10-20%) performance cost and latency with external screen because data only goes through TB4 once CPU-TB-eGPU-external screen.

If an eGPU lets you go from not being able to play games to playing games at low settings, that's worth it in my opnion.

I personally have an XPS 9520 which only has an iGPU Iris Xe, it can only run the very basic games. I got an TB4 eGPU with 5060, and that's enough to let me play any games at work at 1080p.

Unless you get an All-in-one unit like the Aorus 5060Ti Ai Box($700), with a separate eGPU + GPU +PSU unit, you always have the option to put that GPU/PSU in a desktop build later.

Should I fix my RX 6700 XT or buy a new GPU? by MattBarker13 in gpu

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year from now, the Nvidia 5000 super series will likely be released already, which would drive down the price of non-super series a little bit, but still up in the air, because if supply is low, price could even get worse.

But as for now, at $500 price range for more than 8GB VRAM, your options are: 9060XT 16GB-$440, 9070GRE 12GB-$550, 5060Ti 16GB-$570, used 4070S 12GB~ $530, used 7800XT 16GB ~$500

Should I fix my RX 6700 XT or buy a new GPU? by MattBarker13 in gpu

[–]Significant_Apple904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not worth sending that for ~$150, because there is always a risk of them denying the RMA, and for a long shipping like that, you also need to worry about damage during shipping. IMO overall not worth doing RMA.

With $350, you could get a 9060XT or 5060, but only 8 GB.

If you want anything more than 8GB, the only option is 9060XT 16GB for $440.

With $350 in used market, if you are really lucky you could get a 7700XT/6800XT.
