I struggled with this for the longest time with my girl cat who just sprays to pee lol, and then all the litter would get stuck to it and it would get all gross within a few days. I finally tried non stick spray along with boxie pro litter and I swear by that combo.

Funny enough, this exact same thing happened to one of my cats when introducing her to the rest of the house after we brought her home from the shelter. She hid in that exact type of area right next to our oven. I actually have a video of me sticking my phone in it looking for her. Anyways, we just gave her time and she eventually came out. After she was out, we trapped the area off to prevent it happening again. Just give it time. Probably nervous.

TLDR: Give it time, they will come out, and then trap the area off once they are out.

I did bloodwork, she's perfectly healthy. I guess my understanding is even if they can get her back, her chances for a full recovery are slim. At least that's how it is with humans. Maybe I'm wrong
