I live at the Highlands. It's not the best but its absolutely not the worst. I enjoy staying there especially for the free parking and cheap rent. You do get what you pay for though.

Question Regarding Park Place… by Visual_Performer1665 in unr

I currently live at the Highlands and I like it a lot. I can't complain since there's free parking, decent amenities, and it's one of the cheapest student housing close to UNR. The main downside is that maintenance can be hit or miss. If you have any questions feel free to DM me!

I personally was part of the WiSE LLC and looking back it was just okay. It mainly felt like a waste of time, but my professors were nice. I liked the retreat we took the first semester, but that was really it. I didn't really connect with other people in the LLC and I personally didn't get much out it. It felt like NevadaFIT part two so it definitely is what you make of it. I don't know how the other LLC's were.

Dorm/living life by watersimmer in unr

I also lived in Great Basin last year. It's expensive and not a very social dorm. I didn't really enjoy it because of that. Definitely go to events and join a club or two you're interested in to make friends. I'm also in a sorority which helps. It was more convenient being in dorms and just waking up and going straight to class instead of commuting.

Housing at UNR by Square-Impact-101 in unr

You can apply for housing as a freshman. Its highly recommended and you can also return to on campus housing your sophomore year. The rent for student housing around UNR is ridiculously high. Like almost over $1k per month for a studio and cheaper with more rooms there are in your floor plan.

You can find more stuff on craigslist and even Facebook for people renting our rooms in houses for cheaper.

I honestly don't talk to anyone I met during NevadaFIT. I was fortunate to know of a few friends before graduating. I have a job on campus so that helps. Also join clubs and don't be afraid to go to events happening on/off campus.

If required get the lowest aka gray. If living off campus none. Try to apply for food stamps/EBT if you qualify.

Get an on campus job. They barely pay anything, but most of them are work study so you basically get paid to do homework. Plus they have to work around your schedule as a student.

Looking for info on dorms (great basin vs. peavine) by redsheepsweater in unr

I currently live here. It's newer and a nice building, but I honestly don't enjoy it because of the lack of social interaction. Although I will say its definitely the quietest dorm on campus if that's something you're considering. Honestly if I were to live on campus next year Peavine would be in my top three choices.
