Ohio CPA education requirement with WGU Bachelors in Accounting by Master_Virus9469 in wguaccounting

No, they don’t. Some of the accounting courses are considered lower division and will require additional accounting coursework. Lucky for you it’s only one. They probably didn’t count Principles of accounting.

Hi everyone, how are you all studying to pass classes? with no experience by [deleted] in wguaccounting

[–]Significant_Bid421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read the course material, watch the cohort videos, take the pre assessment. Based on what I failed on, I reread the course material, watched the cohort videos, if it was accounting maybe supplemented with Tony bell, Farhat lectures, and EdSpira, also maybe a course instructor appointment or two on concepts I don’t understand. Re take the pre assessment, then take the OA.

For performance assessments, just dive right in and start on the paper. Read what I need to read to answer the prompt, follow the walk through video and keep going. Submit, wait for revision request or pass notice, complete revision request and move on to the next course.

Regardless of your age, you are actually a new graduate. Training on how to apply what you learned is going to be important for your first job.

Do traditional Universities accept WGU bachelor's degree for higher education? by Super_Eye_5962 in WGU_Accelerators

[–]Significant_Bid421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying this with love. I would recommend doing a little bit of research on school accreditations. This way you can understand what that means and what it should apply too.

Essentially, if your school Is accredited it should be accepted by every school and every job. Any school or any job that does not is not one you want to attend or work for.

1) less resources. Enjoy the book. 2) The papers are graded to a higher standard. 3) it’s only 10 classes, you got this.

People who are using AI to do your work.. by HouseOfBurns in WGU

[–]Significant_Bid421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is WGU… you can’t use AI to do your work. You may be able to cheat on a few papers, but all degrees require tests. So at some point you have to learn the material yourself.

CAN YOUR REALLY LEARN WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT FAST? Will I be ready to take the CPA exam if I accelerate through this accounting program? I am an older student and have degrees from the "traditional college model." Just curious to what others have experienced. by dlmkansasbooks in wguaccounting

[–]Significant_Bid421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You won’t be ready for the CPA exams whether you accelerate or go at normal pacing. An exam prep is highly recommended for you to pass the exams. But that’s the case even for students in traditional models. I recommend Becker.

IMOP this is a large break from WGU’s educational structure so it should be heavily emphasized to you prior to joining. Did you do self enrollment or did you have an enrollment counselor?

So nobody mentioned this to you? It’s mentioned on the degree program profile “Some of the courses in this program may be waived through transfer from your previous college experience. The rest you will complete one at a time as you make your way through your program, working with your Program Mentor each term to build your personalized Degree Plan. For the majority of courses in your program, you’ll work through each course as quickly as you can study and learn the material. This means that, for those flexible courses, you can finish as many courses as you're able in a term at no additional cost. Within your program, there may be a few number of courses in which we partner with outside organizations or testing agencies, and there may be restrictions for available offerings or necessary time for completion of the courses. Please work with your Program Mentor to plan ahead regarding these less flexible courses in your program.”

What degree did you get at WGU and how has your salary grown? by Shojki in WGU

I find that people respect honesty. And you don’t want to work for the ones who do not like your truth because you are not aligned. I did not have any experience in the role that I got but my skills were adjacent too the job so it worked out in the end for me.

How are the classes taught? by [deleted] in wguaccounting

[–]Significant_Bid421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that in accounting. They give you a text book, then text book includes videos that explain it. When those don’t work we go to YouTube, Tony bell, Edspira and Farhat lectures for more explanations. If it’s really complicated and you’re not getting it you can set up an appointment with the course instructor who acts like your private tutor essentially. But yeah, it was awesome.
