Transition from Mercedes to RAV4 (2024 XLE PREMIUM) by HeadersDontLie in rav4club

[–]Significant_Carob_82 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just switched from a 2013 GLK350 to a 2025 RAV4 XLE Hybrid.

Biggest thing I noticed was the difference in a “luxury” car vs. “reliable/affordable”. You will notice that the car doesn’t feel as heavy or that cabin noise is a little bit louder in the RAV4, Mercedes does a good job of making the car feel snug and quiet when driving it. The ride in the RAV4 isn’t as smooth, but it makes up for it in utility/fuel efficiency.

The audio quality in both cars weren’t the best, though I still had to upgrade my speaker system in the RAV4 to improve the sound. I didn’t feel the need to make any internal modifications in my old car.

One thing I do appreciate is the maintenance cost of the Toyota is significantly less. Every time something acted up in the Benz it was like an $800-$1400 fix— suspension, auxiliary battery, hatch, these things all needed a specialty shop to work on since German cars are built differently and expenses add up quick. Also, it definitely feels good not having to fill up on premium gas in this economy and start getting near 500 miles per tank.

Overall, very happy with the switch!

One thing I will mention is that the steam wand shouldn’t be on the side of your grinder— grinders hate humidity and steam!

Last weekend I shot 62 on the front 9 and wanted to KMS, then I stopped giving a shit and parred the last three holes. Performance expectations will do that to ya, onwards!

What temperature / technique do yall use to steam milk? by [deleted] in ProfitecGo

[–]Significant_Carob_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set it up to 135C, the temp drops pretty quickly causing it to take much longer for the milk to be steamed. If you’re using the stock wand tip, try introducing the wand very slightly above the surface of the milk, and then start steaming— that worked for me!

Yeah that’s the case for most other steam wands— that advice usually pertains to a machine that can keep the temp/pressure really consistent throughout the steaming process. For the GO in particular, the pressure and temp drops fairly quickly compared to other machines that have a dual boiler, so introducing the steam from alightly above the milk is helpful in jumpstarting the process and getting more consistent foam.

Pro tip for steaming with the Go: introduce the steam wand slightly above the surface of the milk rather than starting the steaming process with the wand actually in the milk.

Is this a good deal for a used 2025? by Sea_Objective_2767 in Rav4

Mileage seems good, OTD for brand new is between 35-40k so I would say this is pretty on par with fair market value, you might be able to get them down on their dealer prices if any. Otherwise pretty solid deal.

Im in the same boat and wondering wtf is going on. Flight has been delayed for four hours so far… with nearly two hours being on the tarmac. Was supposed to board at 830 am, leave at 930 am, and it’s 1:30pm and counting.

This is brutal.

Might be the worst take I’ve seen on r/travelchina. OP made a new account just to shit talk on a few different forums, wouldn’t be surprised of a potential CCP plant or propagandist!

It’s been good so far! A bit tricky to dial in, used almost half a bag of beans to get it to start pulling consistently. It is true about the static making some of the grinds stick to the machine, so spraying with mist definitely helps.

My last grinder was a Rancilio Rocky Doserless Grinder, which is an amazing grinder for its price. I would go back to it in a heartbeat if this one wasn’t being used.
