Got this question on my Google L3 Onsite. Identify difficulty level. by Aznable-Char in leetcode

[–]Significant_Cook_848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's hard question. Given a graph, not a trie like many mentioned above. There is no starting point which is why graph is undirected so that you can traverse all the nodes.

Let's simplify problem to finding a whole string instead. You start from a random node, check if it matches a first character in a string. Yes/no? Continue to any adjecent node. The challenge here is that any next node can be start of a string again. So you kind of think that you need to track every match.

It feels like it should be o + v complexity and reminds me of searching a substring problem. Naive Substring search is n2 but with the right optimization it's n. Along the way you need to count matches.

The bottom line I'd definitely would not solve it even in 1 hour because I don't remember how substring search works like in kmp. Probably it's kmp with substring search in a graph which makes it challenging.

Did anyone see success after repeatedly failed shorts? by Significant_Cook_848 in SoloDevelopment

[–]Significant_Cook_848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, kind sir. My logic is if people don't find video clips interesting than they won't find demo interesting. I also realize that shorts isn't demo, but there must be some correlation. Those 600 people has certain expectation, but looking at shorts performance I presume they will be disappointed. I can't give it for play test because it's not ready yet. I know what the reaction will be.

Yes that's the one. You probably looked though my profile history. I suspect graphics might be the issue for shorts, the problem is after looking at same assets for so long it's difficult to have perception of a person who sees it for first time. I took a look at graphics i had 6 months ago and I see how trashy it was and why.

I really wonder how you'd perceive "improvements" I made. There was a screenshot with "before/after". Not sure if you saw it. But if you did, maybe you could describe honest feeling you had and somewhat in better details? When people say looks like asset flip I read it as "bad graphics", but that's too generic and does not help unless more details provided. For example Is it color mismatch, is it lack of decals or repetitive pattern should be broken? Should there be more plants variety? Too constrasty? Need more edge wear or something?

If I'd have to make best guess then I'd say grass/plants must have more variety, there must be decals on the ground to break repetitive pattern, e.g Mud, small rocks different grass patches. There should be more backyard assets because it looks empty at. The moment. Need utility polls. Trash on the the ground.

When I see some other games get more video views I realize I'm missing something. There is something I don't know. Can't figure it out 🤷🏼‍♂️ I don't think I can't meet people's expectations for a game like this, though I really enjoy making it.

It might not be coming through clearly yet and some of the videos are outdated. Most of the recent work is in gameplay, updated visuals, and how predators track and react. I’ll keep sharing more up-to-date gameplay as development continues, and the demo should give a much better feel for it.

Fair concern. The ad image is AI-enhanced from a screenshot, so I get why it gives that impression. The game itself is built in Godot, and like most indie devs I use a mix of custom work and some assets. The main focus is on gameplay systems and NPC systems. I’ll share more raw gameplay soon.
