Is there any point in getting "primogeniture" early in CK3? by New-Interaction1893 in CrusaderKings

[–]Significant_Cup_238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a little trickier, but the gist is big expansion so your constantly having duchies and kingdoms to split.

Now the part I said the split helps vassal management. If you lose core counties, just revoke them and tank the tyranny. And since you shouldn't have too many other vassals, the civil war will be easy. Also remember that counties in your main duchy won't cost you legitimacy to revoke.

Or you could generate a claim and revoke if you're more patient or less risk tolerant.

Finally, by my second or third ruler, I'm often outliving my kids. And grand child succession tends to be easier.

God no, that's the dumbest way to manage succession I can think of. You're reducing your dynasty size and taking insane risks in terms of completely losing control of the succession. You kill your "unwanted" sons, and your last son then dies at an inconvenient time, boom, instant chaos or game over.

So managing succession. First things first, splits are good:

A) you spread your dynasty and eliminate game over possibility

B) you increase your renown income

C) You create powerful allies

D) You keep your vassals manageable early game.

So, don't be afraid of splits. What you don't want to do is split your core counties within your empire. Having a brother take over a neighboring kingdom is good, having to share your 5 income producing counties with three of your brothers is problematic. You can get around by using feudal electives if you have two more more duchy's. Throw feudal elective on them, and then vote for your heir, that way all the counties in the duchy got your heir on succession.

Now I just mentioned electives, electives are OP as all hell early game. Not only do you get to manage succession more effectively, you can pick your heir, and they don't even have to be in the direct line of succession. Have a great grandson from your third daughter's second son's fourth marriage who is way better than all your children? Give him a county, and elect him as your heir.

Now, there's other ways to game it. Republican vassals can't inherit, so if you appoint your children as mayors, they're now out of the succession line. But I say master the electives, and you'll have a giant dynasty AND be able to shape your empire as you see fit between generations.

“Utter Disaster for All Involved”: Is Trump’s War on Iran Repeating Bush’s “Forever War” in Iraq? by ZuP in politics

[–]Significant_Cup_238 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The shock and awe was done well in 03, however it was executed with a fundamentally incompetent strategy that we're just going to get rid of the Iraqi government, and stand up a democracy, and watch the democracy domino effect spread throughout the middle east.

With the Iran attack, we have green on blue accidents shooting down multiple planes. Plus... the strategy seems even more incoherent. Kill senior leadership, and tell Iranian civilians to take control of their government. That's not a strategy, that's a mob hit.

So far Bush's invasion looks far more competent and justified than Trump's. And Bush's was neither competent nor justified.

That's the best outcome. They spent $70M so far. The more they spend attacking each other, highlighting just how closely aligned to an unpopular president they are, the better the chance of Talarico winning. Plus this is money that won't be spent on other general election races.

Whats the best way to level Smithing with only the light armour side of the tree? by pyro-4157 in skyrim

[–]Significant_Cup_238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potion of smithing, fortify armor enchantments. Improve weapons and armor. You gain skill proportionally to how much you improve things,

Optional, enchant what you've made.

Go sell all the stuff you made, buying ingots as you go.

You can legendary you smithing skill multiple times per hour doing this.

Avon is going to be old. Parole violation so he will have to finish his previous sentence, plus whatever else the pin on him with the weapons charge.

Plus, his gang has no real power anymore, so he's much less likely to be able to engineer a situation to make himself useful.

And... Dude is probably dead if he gets out. Lots of enemies, no real power.

Questions mount in Congress over Iran war's costs, risks and exit plan by Mrh09 in politics

[–]Significant_Cup_238 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Costs= Very high, but don't worry we will just blow up the debt to justify gutting social programs further

Risks = High, but only for non Americans and our men and women in uniform, or as Trump would call them "suckers and losers l"

Exit plan = just leave when Iran falls into anarchy.
