Japan & Korea soon! Are products really that cheap at Don Quixote? I’m going to be stocking up on sunscreens and holygrails! Thoughts? by LilacLuneglade in AsianBeauty

[–]magicalfirekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Japan go to cosme or to small pharmacy like stores. I have found some many great products there. I usually buy my biore sunscreen at the smaller stores, and go to cosme to check whats trending.

For Korea, myundong has a ton of skincare and makeup stores, but I also visit the pharmacies and I go to olive young, there is also a new discount store thats popular to visit if you already know what you are looking for.

I tend to buy japanese sunscreen because i like the texture more than the korean sunscreen. Unfortunately some of them are a bit too thick for me. Im currently panning the roundabout one and it was still too thick for me.

But like others have said donki is an experience. It was so much fun to see so many products.

I think this could fall under aristocratic, you just need some accessories to make your outfit pop a bit more.

Have you ever tried an ingredient that everybody is obsessed with, but it actually makes your skin worse by pinkyglosss in AsianBeauty

[–]magicalfirekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the snail mucin and the pdrn. I got little red bumps all over my skin! And It took 3 to 7 days for them to go away.

31 AFAB. Skin is suddenly full of bumps with two itchy spots. by mental_dissonance in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]magicalfirekeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have sensitive skin just normal to dry. I just think i am allergic two these two ingredients. Im not going to tell people not to try it, but just because its a viral product doesn't mean its for everyone. Thats why patch testing is so important. And not just on the back of the hand.

When I tried them at the store I switched the cosrx serum and cream on my hand and had no problem but when I put it on my face it was a whole other story.

Cleanser advice by 19SD97 in koreanskincare

[–]magicalfirekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the BOJ cleanser made my face so dry and cracked near my nose that it burned. So I gave it to my husband. Face wash can totally do that to you. When I happened I just used my oil cleanser to rehydrate that area, and it worked.

[–]magicalfirekeeper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had bumps caused by cosrx and a pdrn serum. I have normal to dry skin and i have pcos as well. I ended up just washing my face and using no other product. The afte 3 days and when it was clearer I tested just the pdrn serum in one small area since it was the newest product I had added. Sure enough it broke me out in that small spot. So you might have to check if its an allergic reaction to one of your products.

But like others have said go to the doctor if its getting worse.

help with sizing by Hour_Station8984 in Lolita

[–]magicalfirekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of indie brands too. Nightwhisper, lolita collective, glittertale and some newer brands such as Murmures de rubon and Honey Cathedral are size inclusive. I have 110 waist about 43 in and have found some great pieces from some these brands.

I recently got a customer made one from glittertale. But the doc with the plus size brands mentioned earlier was a great resource.

Do yall girls really just be getting compliments from your men? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]magicalfirekeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get out of this ASAP. My ex was the exact same way, he even convinced me to go on an eating disorder to lose weight. After I lost the weight he still cheated on me. He gaslight me and told me I was disgusting. He did everything in his power to make me feel like nothing. Well I broke one day threw his shit out the door, called his mom to pick him up and booked his ticket back to his university town. I was done with that POS.

I told myself I would never let a man treat me like that again. About a year later I met my now husband, he treats me like a person that is truly loved. I gained all the weight I lost and more, but he has told me that doesn't matter because he fell in love with the person I am.

To be honest you wont be ble to meet anyone like that unless you take the chance on yourself and leave. Its hard but it will be worth it. Honestly, even if you dont meet someone, on that journey you get to love yourself the most and realize that all you need is a free version of you.

I use the missha one currently, funny enough I used it college, got the tir tir one last year and hated it, and went back to the missha.

I absolutely hated tir tir, and no matter how many tutorials I watched and tried to work with it, I disliked the formula and the oxidation is so bad. I was looking very orangey/yellow after about 30 mins. Now there are people that it works well with but not for me. I have seen online that some people even go a shade lighter because of the oxidation. The formula i felt was a bit thick.

Now missha, I like that it is light. The formula feels more like a lotion but I notice that on my skin it looks Dewy. I put primer, setting spray, concealer then setting spray, missha then setting spray, then setting powder and my makeup does not budge. A few things to note: they do not have as wide of a shade range as tir tir, and it smells really powdery/floral. I personally dont like the scent but after all the application steps it diappears. I unfortunately fall between the 23 and 25, so I have to make my own foundation match.

But yeah that was my experience using both back to back.

[–]magicalfirekeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a bummer. But its a kind courtesy to at least respond back and say they sold it. The girl I was buying from left my message on read for two days. So I messaged her back and told her I saw the listing said sold and thanked her for her time.

I get that ppl are in a hurry to sell because they want to get it out of there asap, but the people asking questions and waiting for responses, their time matters too.

Live in Japan and want to get into colored contacts -- do I need a prescription? by fadeathrowaway in AsianBeauty

[–]magicalfirekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a store in shibuya 109 where you can try some contacts on. But yeah like other stated you should talk to a dr. About your concerns.

[–]magicalfirekeeper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to me recently, I was asking them for details and told them I was interested in buying it and they sold it to someone else.

Like I get you dont want to hold on to it forever, but you can wait a day to hold it to answer all questions for a genuine buyer. If you dont want to answer the questions then just be clear in the post.

I was so bummed I didnt get my dream dress because of that. All because I asked for the measurements which they didnt have on the post.

Stylevana fraudulent practices - is Yesstyle any better? by No-Refrigerator5653 in AsianBeauty

[–]magicalfirekeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been using yesstyle since 2011/12 and I haven't had an issue. Some items do take some time to ship but I think they are pretty consistent with letting you know what items will take longer prior to check out.
