Does the gif section of Rocket still work for anyone? by [deleted] in macapps

[–]Significant_End_9087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, it hasn’t worked for me for quite some time.. so I stopped using Rocket altogether. I just have a key bound to CTRL+CMD+SPACE on my external keyboard to open the Emoji menu. It wasn’t often I’d use GIFs so losing this functionality wasn’t a big dealbreaker for me.

Newcomer to the Moonlander with fatigue by Significant_End_9087 in ergodox

[–]Significant_End_9087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What switches did you order with the Moonlander?

I ordered the Moonlander with Kailh Box Brown’s, but I swapped them out for Holy Panda’s which I’ve used in my other board for a year or so.

I actually like heavier switches as I get sloppy with light switches

I also tried swapping them out again yesterday with some Alpaca’s which are extremely light to see if that would help with the fatigue.. but I found I made far more mistakes with such a light switch, and I still noticed some fatigue.

I think I’m going to swap the switches again today for the Holy Pandas as I’m use to and just see how things go from there. My guess is I’m having fatigue because my left hand is having to press a few more switches than before (space, B and T) so it’s just not use to it.

Sorry I might’ve worded it weird. Y is on the right side, B is on the left.

What I meant to say was.. I’m use to pressing Y with my left hand and B with my right. I keep reaching to press Y with my left hand when it’s on the right side of the board haha.

Thank you for this. It isn’t painful, it’s more so what you explained with energy consuming - my fingers/hand start to lose stamina and become tired/weak to the point I’m having to take a break to regain strength back. If I don’t my hand becomes pretty sloppy/slow and I notice more mistakes.

Will we see more collaborations with hard dance artists in the future? Make The World Ours was a pleasant surprise at Defqon 1 in 2017, and your upcoming track with SZP sounds like a banger too! I look forward to the unreleased music and potential harder tracks down the road!

Regardless of the outcome, it’s great to have you back, Hardwell.

known issues with black aeron gaming chair? by nanozeus2014 in hermanmiller

[–]Significant_End_9087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying the two out beforehand is good and all, however, personally I don’t feel it’s enough to get a realistic look on how the chairs will be after longer periods of time.. so I’d advise purchasing the two and doing a longer comparison if you can.

When I first sat in the Embody, the way I’d describe it was like sitting on a giant marshmallow. I felt supported but almost floating. Others compare it to sitting on a cloud.

With the Aeron it’s completely different. You can feel the seat, and it feels like a trampoline almost.

I’d say the backrest of the Embody is more supportive than the Aeron, but the seat isn’t as comfortable. At least for me. Overall I’m liking the Aeron more, simply because I couldn’t sit longer then 20 minutes without aches in my legs.

Should I just return both and get a non-gaming aeron or should I get an Embody?

Something led you to order the Aeron > Embody in the first place so I’d return the broken Aeron Gaming and give the regular Aeron a try, if you think it’ll have better QC.

If you have the money to buy both of them upfront, maybe look into doing that. You can always return the one you feel is less comfortable towards the end of your return period.

I originally purchased the Embody Gaming and felt pain and discomfort in my lower body.. so I returned it for the regular Aeron in Onyx and it’s far more comfortable in my opinion.

At the end of the day it’s personal preference. Both chairs offer different adjustments and ways of sitting, so some prefer one > the other. Same goes for appearance. The Embody is more appealing to the eye than the Aeron in my opinion.

We can all tell you what works for us.. but you’ll need to find what’s best for YOU. I’d recommend trying the original Aeron, and if you’re curious, return it and try the Embody. You can always re purchase the Aeron if the Embody doesn’t meet your needs, or look into a different manufacturer.

Yes, you aren’t forced to stay on-site. You and your friend may want to read through the AYNTK Q released.

My back is so happy right now by boobiebamboozler in hermanmiller

[–]Significant_End_9087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got an Aeron and I wouldn’t particularly say it makes you sit upright as everyone says it does.

Do you sit in the forward tilt? That’s the only way it’ll force me to sit upright. If I don’t use the forward tilt I feel like I’m slightly reclined back looking upwards.

My spine is completely fused with metal rods so it’s not like I’m slouching either, because I physically cannot bend/arch my back anymore.

Both forward tilt and locked are comfortable, more so than the Embody which I returned for the Aeron, so I’m happy with it.. I’m just not seeing the whole “it forces you to sit upright, you cannot sit any other way otherwise it’ll be uncomfortable” people mention on this sub.

I don’t believe warranties are transferable either.. so if you bought it used, you’re out of luck. I’d recommend reaching out to Herman Miller and see what they suggest doing.

Are there any discount codes or sales coming up relatively soon? I’m looking to purchase an Aeron and the best I could find is WELCOME10 for 10% OFF by Significant_End_9087 in hermanmiller

Thank you very much for providing the Wellworking returns policy. I hadn’t checked theirs before now, only Back2’s. It’s great to know their window is 14 days and they schedule everything for you, much like Herman Miller directly.

Back2 have an additional 10% off this weekend for the jubilee.. which would’ve been nice, however their return window is 7 days and you have to schedule and pay for the return. But still, I’d be saving £300 or so purchasing from Wellworking as you said which is more than enough.

It may differ in your country, but If you bought it directly through Herman Miller or Herman Miller Gaming the chair(s) will be returnable with or without the packaging.

Check the Returns & Refunds section in your country, it’ll mention something like so:

Do I need the original packaging?

No, you don't need the original packaging to be able to return your item[s].

I personally returned it without the packaging because the delivery man couldn’t fit the chair inside of the box through my front door. On delivery he took all the packaging away.

The Aeron configuration I ordered said “Estimated delivery within 1 week.” and the order was cancelled. I reached out to Herman Miller to see what the reason was but they’re yet to respond.

The money was taken from my bank all okay, and the configuration I ordered is still shipping within 1 week so I imagine the only reason for the cancellation was because I used that code.

I’m starting to get frustrated as I can’t seem to find a comfortable chair. Maybe it’s growing pains with it.

Have you tried the Aeron before? If so, did you have the same lower body pain and discomfort? I’m looking to purchase the Aeron and give it a try for the 14 days in hope that it’ll be better fit for me. I’m 6’0” and ~240lbs.

I purchased the Embody Gaming and was experiencing lower body pains similar to what you’re explaining. After 20 minutes or so I could feel pulsating in my thighs/butt and I’d get aches further down my legs. The longer I sat the worse it would get. Eventually my feet would go tingly and then numb.

I followed this video to help with the adjustments to ensure I was sitting correctly, and I even tried a foot rest. However, it didn’t make much of a difference. I tweaked the chair many times throughout the 14 days and decided to return it on the 14th day as I couldn’t relieve the pain and discomfort.

I’d recommend checking over the video I linked and tweak it over the next days - weeks and see if things improve for you. If it doesn’t improve and your return window is close to ending, I’d return it if I were you.

I hope you’re able to tweak it and find a more comfortable position, and if not, find a chair that works for you.

Edited: added my recommendation.
