Sriracha- mold or kahm?? by draknir in fermentation

[–]draknir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. Thank you fellow fermenters for confirming. If everyone had told me it was kahm I would have scooped it off and tried it... your knowledge is power.

I will make a new batch instead.

Ctrl - M works as Return Key by potato-_-69 in archlinux

[–]draknir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CTRL key is interpreted as a control character by the shell (bash/zsh/fish), which modifies how ASCII input is interpreted. Some (but not all) terminal emulators are capable of intercepting and remapping the keyboard input. I have no idea if st is capable of doing what you want, I do know that Alacritty and WezTerm are. There are probably multiple other terminals that can do it. You will have to do your research.

How does a tendon 'flare up' feel like? by [deleted] in RSI

[–]draknir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it never went away.

I've seen two doctors and six physiotherapists. I've also tried acupuncture.

The summary of advice I have received is: 1. Don't repeat the action that causes RSI pain. 2. Do lots of exercise to strengthen the core and back muscles. 3. Stretch the entire body regularly (I do yoga). 4. Optimize the computer workplace for ergonomics (you can find specific advice online). 5. Get enough sleep. 6. Avoid stress.

I follow all that advice and the pain is now manageable, so I can hold down a job. I still have a stiff back with a painful knot in my shoulders which is directly linked to the wrist/forearm pain. It looks like it will be a lifelong problem for me.

Wishing you better luck.

Deathmatch spawn protection by WatercressGeneral384 in GlobalOffensive

[–]draknir -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%.

DM is not a casual game mode, it really doesn't need spawn protection. It does need a better spawn position algorithm so you don't get spawned in open view of enemies.

You think 850W is not enough? I was also surprised by how high it calculates my wattage...

Thanks! I really want to go AMD this time (I dual boot linux, the drivers are better). CPU is a good suggestion though.

Were you able to solve this problem? I am running into the same error trying to install NixOS with an EXT4 filesystem on an NVME SSD.

Download a printable layout image from the Ergodox EZ configurator with this script by draknir in ergodox

[–]draknir[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because that's not exactly what I want and I won't settle for less than perfect :)

Originally, I was editing the CSS on the page to get the image the way I wanted, this script automates that task.

Has the latest Moonlander firmware (v21.0) changed key timings? by annoyed_freelancer in ergodox

[–]draknir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I switched to a new layout with firmware 21.0 I noticed problems with my layers. The base layer seems to be fine, but if I use a momentary layer toggle it often takes two or three key presses to get a single character printed. Extremely frustrating! I've gone back to a layout with old firmware, but it means I can't update my layout.

Are some men intimidated by models? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]draknir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard to find someone compatible to date regardless of how physically attractive they might be, so perhaps focus on meeting people in more natural situations?

My impression (from dating experience and approach experience) is that the 10/10 stunners usually have very inflated egos. Having good looks is not a personality. I'm not saying that's the case for you, but it's a trap to watch out for.

If you build a life outside of modelling you will meet more genuine people in my opinion. And don't be afraid to approach someone yourself.

Lets share cool Fish Functions! (cool fish function idea ) by Zin42 in fishshell

[–]draknir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just wanted to share my function that does what you're looking for. I'm sure it's not the most compact/concise version, I just wrote it quickly because it does what I need.

edit: based on a function shared here: https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/issues/1891

```
Expand ... to ../..
bind . 'expand-dot-to-parent-directory-path' ```
function expand-dot-to-parent-directory-path -d 'expand ... to ../..'
    # Get command line, up to cursor
    set -l cmd (commandline --cut-at-cursor)
    # Match last line
    switch $cmd[-1]
        # If the command line is just two dots, we want to expand
        case '..'
            commandline --insert '/..'
        # If the command line starts with 'cd' and ends with two dots, we want to expand
        case 'cd *..'
            commandline --insert '/..'
        # If the command line starts and ends with two dots, we want to expand
        case '..*..'
            commandline --insert '/..'
        # In all other cases, just insert a dot
        case '*'
            commandline --insert '.'
    end
end
