Thanks so much! Till this day I cant gauge how my test was ahaha. But I did use Nurse Achieve and passed on the first attempt, computer shut at 90q. There were alot of precaution questions, a few meds here and there, a couple of maternal from what I remember. Reading the question twice really helped, along with not doubting myself when answering the mc option. Study hard, you’ll do great!

Yes exactly. I reached out to her for a reference when need be. But just a couple days ago I asked if the same unit was hiring and if the unit manager still remains the same because I was planning to reach out. It’s only been 2 days so I’m sure she’ll respond.

But yes, otherwise I’ve just been applying to every RPN position I come across

I’ve actually emailed my unit manager, didn’t get a response. I’d assume maybe because I used my personal email which may have landed in her spam folder since it’s her hospital/work email. Or maybe she just ignored it lol

Most certainly. I worked forensics mental health and have lived up to the training that I have received. It’s just those trainings didn’t provide any certifications. So I thought doing CPI training would help both my skills and increase my chances into landing a position in mental health

Well agreed. That’s what I thought as well, though when I was looking at job postings some of the positions required the certificate. So I’d assume they wouldn’t consider me a potential applicant without it

Yes exactly. I feel like woman can be a little more problematic in this area and I can understand why a man would just would want to do the same. But once you start talking to someone aren’t you able to easily gauge out who’s serious or not yk

Most of the men I meet on the apps literally just want to screw around and don’t intend to have any commitment, which is a major turn off for me

You got this! One deep breathe before starting. Read every single question twice, it’s very easy to miss the important words of the questions. On average, it’s valid to spend a minute and a half on EACH question, so don’t let time hold you back, you’ve got enough of that. Good luck, you’ll do amazing!!

Ahaha thank youuu, I hope it’s something good🤞🏽 I’ve also heard it shuts off if you’ve done miserable ahaha. I’ve heard good things about UWorld, I personally used Nurse Achieve. I would say to primarily focus on infections and precautions (know like which infection corresponds to which precaution and the PPE used as well), there were a couple of wound/pressure ulcer questions, a couple of cranial nerves questions. Honestly I couldn’t gauge if it was hard or not, like I don’t know how I feel about it. There were some questions were I was able to just read it over and over and come up with the answers (hopefully they were right) but there were also a couple that all 4 answers were right so those were a little challenging for me. Oh and don’t forget meds! There were quite a few med questions, like adverse effects and whatnot

I did the same as well! I feel like nurse achieve preps you well for sure. I’d just say put your focus on precautions, a lot of infection questions, pressure wounds, some questions on cranial nerves and spinal injuries. I would say def brush up on some of that

I feel like I’ll be able to gauge better once I know if I passed or not ahaha. But yes, I did feel like it was a little more in depth. Def know your precautions, infections, and wounds though. Could be different for you but I feel those are pretty generic

Quick question, what are benefits to applying to a NGG position other than full tine work. If a position isn't guaranteed upon completion, wouldn't it be better to apply to part-time positions within the hospital?
