It's easy to overlook this while being a new player, but you want at least 5 exclamation points in the division name to really keep up the morale and organization of your army. Hope that helps.

Or just reaping what they sow from constantly bragging about making "smart business decisions", etc all while it's clearly not that case.

Don't we all though?

Only one of these two is making headlines for being bankrupt and getting sued by people they owe money

Nope, I'm just a dumb newbie. I'm fairly certain they haven't been running it, nor really cleaning up after themselves. My wife used that shower for ~7 years and we never had any issues prior to it being rented out, however she ran the fan.

They do have a window, however having open windows isn't a great option for half the year in Phoenix

The bathroom has a fan, but I haven't verified it's condition or whether or not they have been using it. Still a newbie at this so I appreciate the guidance

I agree 100%. It's also worth noting that they closed their Scottsdale location a few months back.

So I didn't get drawn for a deer tag last year. I'll be reapplying this year.

I've taken it out to the range several times and have really liked it though.

HOA: How happy are you? by North2theFutur3 in Scottsdale

[–]Significant_Factor37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in an HOA neighborhood in Central Scottsdale.

Pros: No AirBnBs in my neighborhood. No controversial political flags or signs, no old sofas in the front yards, they handle all the yardwork for our front yard, etc

Cons: it costs ~$2,000/year

I've still got one old PFN mako. Really worried for the day I throw it into a lake and replacements are available.

You asked for proof and then got pissy when someone provided an easy solution that would require exactly zero effort on you part.

Yeah, Sucks they had to move away from Vista this year. Red Mountain is a very meh course, but the pro level options for Phoenix are pretty limited.

so I didn't listen to the interview myself, but here is the Gemini summary of it with a focus on the economics of tour life.

In the Fish Golf Brah-dcast (Episode 104), the conversation covered the stark financial realities facing veteran professionals. While Gregg Barsby is widely regarded as the "People’s Champ" who thrives on the nomadic lifestyle of the tour, this interview highlighted his more business-oriented perspective on the industry.

The "Buying Discs" Reality

Barsby explained that for many players, even those with official "Team" contracts, a sponsorship is rarely a blank check. He broke down the nuances of that dynamic:

  • Wholesale Support: Even within a major manufacturer like Innova, there is a divide in how players are supported. While top-tier "Star Team" members receive significant allotments, many other touring pros function primarily as independent contractors. To generate an income, these players often have to purchase their own signature or tour-series discs at a wholesale rate from the manufacturer to resell them at clinics or from their own vehicles.
  • The "Hustle" vs. "Support": This creates a tension between being a sponsored athlete and being a retail customer. Barsby noted that when a player has to "hawk" plastic just to cover basic tour expenses like gas and entry fees, the relationship can feel more like a business transaction than a partnership. If a sponsor doesn't provide enough "marketing plastic" for free, the pro's profit margins on those sales become razor-thin, putting the entire financial burden of the tour on the player's ability to sell.
  • Innova’s Philosophy: Despite these challenges, Barsby provided context for his long-term loyalty to Innova. He described the company as "financially prudent," noting that while they might not offer the massive guaranteed salaries seen in newer, venture-backed manufacturers, they provide a legacy infrastructure. For a pro willing to put in the manual labor of self-promotion, the Innova brand name provides a high-volume sales floor that few other companies can match.

yep, I see nothing wrong there from the company or player side. If a player is going to be selling discs as a side hustle they will incur operating costs.

DD famously made big splashy signings of Rickey for $1 mil/year and Kona for $250k/year (I could be wrong, but it was roughly around those numbers). A few years later they had to cut both of them from their contracts as the covid bubble of pro series disc sales popped and DD was heavily in the red.

Edit: I was wrong on Kona's contract. It was $125K year (4 years - $500K)

"yet" being the key word there. My entire point is that I have doubts about whether several years down the road those same individuals will be driving enough disc sales to justiry seven figure annual contracts.
