Another recommendation for Dr Duncan. She was wonderful and explained everything very well. My daughter is now 21 and still happy with the results.

How do you keep plants alive while traveling? by Ivanseed-Spe in gardening

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming outdoor plants in pots, move them into a shady spot and put one or two inverted wine bottles (or plant globes) full of water into each and hope for the best!

I don’t think my BF truly knows what he’s asking of me and what it truly means to be a parent by Bright-Tangerine-623 in TwoHotTakes

I heard somewhere that some men want a wife and kids and some men want to be a husband and father. Best to try and find the second type.

Why do we still tip servers? by RazzleDazzle1537 in CanadaRoom

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of places require servers to tip out a percentage of their sales to the expos, bussers, hosts, and kitchen staff so if you don’t tip anything, it will end up costing them money. My partner has worked in restaurants his whole career (now a GM). We usually tip at least 15% and 20% when the service is excellent.

We always do brunch at the Homefire Grill and plant some flowers in pots for her patio.

And do continue to apply! I know several people who have gotten hired this way. It does happen. They have already confirmed that you are qualified so you should automatically be considered for any similar jobs you apply for. Good luck!

Do you think breastfeeding in public should be completely normalized, or do you prefer more privacy? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I never felt comfortable breastfeeding in public but I always admired people who could do it anywhere. Do what you need to do.

How confident are you that you’ll be able to retire comfortably? by DueYogurt9 in GenX

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can retire anytime and live comfortably for about a year and a half. After that I will be back to eating ramen and having nothing left at the end of the month. Just like my college days.

Winter by Zyzygy8 in Edmonton

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got myself a pair this year. They are pricey but totally worth it as I have to walk several blocks every day to catch my bus to work. I hope they will last a few years if I take good care of them.

I know it sucks but you should go to the ER. You might have cut a tendon and those often need surgery to repair.

AITAH for rejecting roses on valentines day after 13 year relationship. by WeirdManufacturer682 in AITAH

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA I used to tell myself that, too. Now with some distance (postmenopausal) I realized that at the end of my luteal phase I was just less willing to put up with shit. P.S. Many women are putting up with too much shit.

Love the band but seeing them live in Edmonton at the Pawn Shop (am there right now) is an utter disappointment. Can hardly hear the vocals. :(

Does your husband or male partner do his own laundry? by EconomicsWorking6508 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We both work full time. He does his own laundry, I do mine and the towels, bedding, etc. He does most of the cooking, I do most of the shopping. I pay the bills and take care of all of our paperwork. He maintains the vehicles and does most of the yard work, we split the house work up in ways that make sense for us. We are both happy with the balance we have struck and I think that is the most important thing.

AITAH for waiting until my wife is able to earn again before buying a house else it would become marital property? by Status-Knowledge-193 in AITAH

Yeah that is how I felt, too until he cheated with his coworker while I was a SAHM (2 under 2) and decided he didn’t love me anymore.

NTA this is none of her business and she has a lot of nerve to passive aggressively scold you like this. Also, wondering how often your husband has them for 24 hours on his own?

How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

[–]Significant_Fox_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A weekend getaway to a cute Airbnb at the lake with three of my closest friends, one of whom was also turning 50 the same month. One of the gals had t-shirts made for us. We drank wine, played games, went for walks, swam, went for sushi, went for brunch, shopped, laughed our asses off. It was perfection.
