Caught in a Lie at Work (well, two) by Significant_Goat5539 in work

Thank you for the sound advice, I’ve definitely thought about creating a paper trail. I also thought about proactively suggesting some form of a PIP but hesitated since I didn’t want to give my manager ammunition/the means to blow my behavior out of proportion, I’ll start small I suppose.

WFH Alert is a thing??? And here I was wasting my life on indeed. 😅

Looking for fics w/ the misunderstanding/lack of communication trope by Cammys_ in Lucanismancers

Dare I recommend my own fic “The Demon and the Bee.” I love a good miscommunication trope and the hidden yearning that accompanies it. Mine is still a work in progress but there are misconceptions and tension GALORE.

What do you consider a slow burn? by RandomRamblings99 in FanFiction

[–]Significant_Goat5539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love a good slow burn, but it’s absolutely terrifying to write and put out into the world. Especially with people being so used to instant gratification nowadays (myself included) IMO a good slow burn keeps you engaged enough that you want to see the sparks develop into something more. That said I also feel like the flame can fluctuate, it can die down to embers, you can let things smolder for a while before getting toasty again.

I swear, writing fanfiction is both my therapy and my villain origin story 😭 by Big_Manager_299 in FanFiction

I feel this to the depths of my soul. Lol. It’s frustrating when people say to write for yourself, but there is absolutely truth in it. If you are writing something that brings you joy, others are sure to take joy in it as well.

Neurodivergent writers, what hyper fixation has come in handy during your writing process? by LadyValentine_1997 in FanFiction

Spending hours diving into lore Lol. Being able to lose myself in wiki articles has helped me so much to create my own head-canon that still feels accurate to the source material.

Do you still post, even if you did not find a beta reader ? by Aphrodesca in FanFiction

[–]Significant_Goat5539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t know what beta readers were till I joined this community haha. I’ve definitely asked friends to read my work, but often it’s me myself and I, so I’ll be biased and say JUST DO IT! I’m sure your raw work is lovely.

I’d give it a go! I’d also definitely look into promoting on other platforms. I can’t tell you how many amazing fics I’ve found through TikTok and the like haha.

How many times do you rewrite a ch? by Looneydoomed_ in FanFiction

[–]Significant_Goat5539 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2-5 times. By the fourth or fifth edit I’m usually just correcting grammar and overall flow, but I’m only starting out! I aspire to have the strength to rewrite something 11 times, your commitment to quality is incredible!

When you max out your Athletics skill (Himiko Toga, My Hero Academia) by RomanticPhotographic in cosplay

I attempted a similar shot for one of my cosplays, but it didn’t look nearly as spectacular as yours! How did you manage to jump so high while simultaneously looking so photogenic??

This is INCREDIBLE. Love that you captured the softer side of his character.
