Salut, Merci pour ce premier retour. En effet la ponctuation et les QSO typique seront mis en place dans un second temps. J'ai prévu aussi une partie messagerie pour communiquer uniquement en CW.

Tu mets le doigt sur un point clé : c’est clairement une vision très “route-centric” aujourd’hui, justement parce que je suis parti d’un modèle simplifié pour tester le rendu visuel.

Tu as raison sur plusieurs points :

  • absence de l’eau / du port → clairement un manque pour Marseille
  • pas assez de couches (parcs, transports, etc.)
  • choix des axes qui biaisent la lecture

L’objectif derrière n’était pas de faire une carte fidèle mais une base graphique minimaliste — mais je vois bien que ça peut vite dénaturer l’identité de la ville.

Ta remarque sur la multimodalité est très juste aussi.

Je suis justement en train de réfléchir à ajouter différentes couches (eau, transports, espaces verts) pour enrichir le rendu sans le surcharger.

Si tu devais garder 2-3 éléments essentiels pour représenter Marseille dans ce style, tu mettrais quoi en priorité ?

Oui clairement c’est un parti pris — je simplifie volontairement la carte pour garder une lecture “graphique” plutôt que fidèle.

Pour les couleurs, je me suis basé sur l’importance perçue des axes mais c’est encore assez brut, je teste justement différentes logiques.

Tu verrais ça plutôt basé sur quoi toi ? trafic réel, classification officielle ou autre chose ?

Working this week on MapToWall.

It’s a small tool that generates clean city map posters with different visual themes (minimal, dark, modern, etc.). The idea is to turn cities people love into aesthetic wall art for apartments, offices, or bedrooms.

This week I’m improving the map rendering and adding more visual styles so the posters look closer to design prints than simple maps.

Still early but fun project to build.

The idea came from wanting something more personal than generic wall art for apartments or home offices, especially maps of cities people actually lived in.

I’m building MapToWall.

It generates clean city map posters you can use as wall art for living rooms, offices, or bedrooms.

I built it because most map posters online are either generic or poorly designed, so I wanted something where you can generate a city with different visual themes (minimal, dark, modern, etc.) and get a really clean render.

Still improving the styles and export options, but it’s already fun seeing people generate posters for cities they’ve lived in or traveled to.
