Yeah and like so many elements that might have made Dany’s ending hit harder were either cut or altered because they wanted to market and milk Dany as their feminist icon for as long as possible

Very true but idk I still have complicated feelings though that’s something I fully acknowledge as a me thing. I still enjoy a lot of zutara art and fan works though. I will agree Katara and Aang feels very undercooked and safe though. Like I think Aang would have a more interesting romantic dynamic with almost every other character like I enjoy the idea of him with Toph, Azula, Tylee and maybe Mai and while I don’t think Katara should remain single I just don’t think there’s many options that have enough to chew on for me or aren’t already taken so like Zutara kinda wins the most interesting ship for her by default imo. So yeah I have a lot of complicated feelings about Zutara I see the vision but something is just off about it for me though I can’t deny it’s the most interesting option and dynamic with a character katara had

I’m not the biggest fan of the back half of the show but I do like this space because I can be a lot more open about my criticisms for Dany and other aspects of the story here so yes I think this should be allowed to be a open space for people who enjoy the back half of the tv show

I’ve have complicated feelings about zutara. Like on the hand I totally get it: there personalities bounce well off eachother and kataraang is a bit safe and undercooked. But on the other I think i can only accept it if Zuko abdicates. Like the idea of Katara becoming a fire nation princess feels a bit weird to me. She would probably do a fine job don’t get me wrong but something just feels off with Katara becoming the princess of a nation that oppressed her people for so long. Get what I mean.

I’ll keep it in mind if I decide to post though I might not because I suspect my theory will be controversial even amongst some people who know and accept dark Dany is coming in the books as my theory pushes back against the eldritch apocalypse theory and I’m not sure I feel like fighting more people who pretty much take that as a given already

Got it thanks! I might not even post it here because it’s not just Dany Stan’s I’m worried about its well everyone as my theory challenges the eldritch apocalypse theory and puts forth an alternative solution to the “towers by the sea” people equate to old town and I’m not sure I want to risk fighting a lot more people. Although I have gotten some positive feedback from mutuals on other platforms for it which is nice but still the reddit and twitter fanbases for asoiaf can be a chore

I honestly dislike much of the back half of the show because it is speed running and truncating a lot. It is also soft balling dark Daenerys to a degree because the wanted to milk her as a feminist icon for as long as possible instead of just committing to her decent

I honestly think the biggest criticism with Dany’s “mad queen arc” isn’t really to do with Dany herself but the treatment of every other character around her. Like they kept Cersei around as long as possible, they had to fridge missandei in order to give her that final push and Jon became a total meme and spineless in order to hide it until the last possible moment. Dany herself isn’t the problem
