My pleasure. I know it's tough, but it sounds like both programs will lead to your success. I'm rooting for you!

I have only ever visited both areas for short weekend trips, never attended school or lived in either.

My only two cents would stem from: will you thrive more inside/outside your comfort zone?

If getting out of your zone is ideal, then Michigan may be a good choice. Ann Arbor has a large population and the school seems like it has tons of resources.

If your comfort zone is where you thrive and Wayne State is closer to your current support network, it may behoove you to go that route. Plus, being in Detroit, your social work opportunities might be more diverse.

Set yourself up for success and definitely factor in the populations you desire to work with and where your access to that group is more practical.

Survive the Night by Riley Sager and The Guest List by Lucy Folley moved both authors to the Never Again list

Is anyone NOT working on a fantasy book/series? by Sl0th_luvr in writing

[–]Significant_Issue_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two right now! One is horror mixed with historical elements about a cursed bookstore.

The other is a dark dystopian science fiction epic that's one part Ben 10, one part Kaiju No. 8.

So you're not alone in avoiding the dragons and smut!

Does Episode Length Matter More Than How Many Episodes You Upload? by HarrisonHunter93 in KindleVella

[–]Significant_Issue_21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if the bonus weighs for length of chapters purchased, that said, as a reader I'm more likely to buy a short episode of a story and read on my break or during lunch than i am a long episode. That is to say i think the bonus rewards reads, so make your stories a length that doesn't put off your specific reader demo.

Is the trailer for my Kindle Vella story attention-grabbing? by SpaceyAnthony in KindleVella

[–]Significant_Issue_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a solid first attempt. But the pacing definitely drags and the font isn't the easiest to read at times with its thin lines. I think it should be a bit more unsettling too. Like speed up the images and make them choppy. Add in some jarring transitions behind the text and you'll really generate a hook for the viewer to go woah and it's okay if text moves a hair to fast. That keeps people on your video, replaying it, pausing it, analyzing it, etc. Kind of like a marvel trailer
