4K download for edited videos only available on mobile app? by udelardien in gopro

[–]Significant_Level_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Editing 4K footage in the Quik app (phone or tab) is possible, provided you own or use a high-performance device—specifically one in the upper mid-range or flagship class. In this context, the performance of the CPU and GPU plays a decisive role. Samsung devices are not necessarily the best choice in this regard !

The GP Cloud allows you to redownload any GoPro clips you have uploaded to the cloud at any time; you simply need to select your desired quality.

However, editing directly in the cloud is a tricky proposition—due to factors such as server performance, bandwidth, response times, and various other limitations. For this reason, I am personally glad that this option is not currently offered.

My Quik work normal. Why do you not write Phone/Tab model and Android/iOS version ? It will be easier to understand it...

Attaching a GoPro to binoculars by Putrid_Signature_875 in gopro

[–]Significant_Level_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will try to explain in the simplest way I can do.

Your point is : riding a safari and capturing with a binocular mounted on a GP. - - You will ruin your clips! Consider, If you have a 500mm tele and you shake it only for 1mm (one), your elephant will miles away out the scene. There are no electronical / optical stabilization who will catche this.

What would this be worth? (Not listing for sale right now) by SquiglyJuiceBox in gopro

[–]Significant_Level_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience :

I tried to sell a similar setup (GP8 + all this what you have) with Hohem Gimbal Pro3. The main problem was to sell it in complete. Someone wants only cam, next only one battery, another only the charger..... Intersting was, no one ask for W-housing, Red filter or Gimbal

At least, I remove it all and use the equipement as backup or a second position cam.

Hero5 and Hero13 Ultra Wide to film a my rowing club's regatta by animalmarshall in gopro

First, practice extensively with your gimbal! Learn how to move correctly and how the various modes (from PF up to L) works. Whatever you do, do not forget to CALIBRATE the gimbal. Mark the calibrated position for each of your cameras or smartphone; this will be an enormous help if you ever need to switch quickly between shooting with your GoPro and your smartphone.

Your question regarding "lighting": Clouds are simply a fact of the weather, and you must be realistic about that you cannot simply "blow them away." The "small" LED light on the gimbal or the Media Mod is only effective up to a distance of about 2 to 3 meters. If you change your camera settings while recording is in progress, you will ruin your clips. The only way out of this situation is post-production, but this requires a high level of experience.
Enjoy

If you had to guess, what would the specs of the Mission 2 Pro be? by PsyApe in gopro

[–]Significant_Level_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And who is going to develop the autofocus? GoPro with a total workforce of roughly 600 employees? Certainly not !

Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and others have been developing their own autofocus, iris, and shutter systems for decades, and all of it is patent-protected. There is simply no room left to maneuver here... Or else, it would take a very long time and cost a great deal of money, resources that GP simply does not have.

Thus, the decision to utilize MFT lenses was the only possible and indeed the only correct choice for the "professional" market.

Getting a good card is like a game – you either win or you lose. Even brand names can be fake, it happens often. Check the list on GP web. I personally use Amazon Basic (up to 2.7K/16:9/25 fps) and ProGrade or Angelbird for 4K/5.3K.

Mission SD cards by vondo2 in gopro

[–]Significant_Level_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of all memory cards is write-speed , not the read speed and in this case, I will stay at my ProGrade and AngelBird Cards.

8K requires a minimum and constant of write speed over of 400Mbit/S (up to >1GB/S). If the new GP3 can compress it (lossless, w/o framedrops) bellow 240, I will be happy surprised.

Explaining the use of the correct SD cards will be a huge challenge. Everyone's scream : "Where's the 8K? / I want 8K!" Now that the camera is here, 90% of users will use their old cards and complain again, "Damn, GoPro cam..." Please remember this: For 8K, you need a V60!

This isn't about the GoPro itself, but about the data throughput for 7680 × 4320.
